Andrew Link for Harlan did most of the damage. I don't have the stats, but I think that he may have hit the 200 yard mark to go along with 4 TD's. I picked WBurg by a TD going into this one because I didn't know what to expect from Harlan. Harlan's O-Line & D-Line looked really good. WBurg looked slow of foot and unprepared for this game. Harlan's pass defense did well. However, I thought that WBurg could have used the deep ball a little more. The Harlan coaching staff had their team ready to go in this one. The Green Dragons have a chance to win some games this year

Perfect example of why football shouldn't be played during this time of the year. Boring game... very disappointing.

Good post!!! You have made a lot of valid points. I think that some of what I have said and some of what others have said are highlighted. Clearly, none of us were at the game, so we don't know the entire situation. Maybe the topic should be... should the coach have been fired???

They haven't won in over 4 years. Do you really think that is fun for them? Do you think that they enjoy getting embarrassed?

As most people can tell... I like to take the opposite end of the spectrum with arguments.

That still doesn't explain the points that I made. Why is this team playing basketball? Clearly they don't need to be competing at a varsity level.

Here is my arguement.... Why was the game scheduled? If the team that didn't score is that bad, then why are they playing a varsity schedule? It's not the winning teams' fault that the other team didn't score. If people were going to complain, then the game should have been called at half.

Good point. However, just curious how you determine which Lineman is better than another? Is it determined by how they grade out?? Who grades them??? Is it determined by the rushing and non-sack numbers??? Is it determined by the teams that they play and the players that they are matched up against??? Is it determined by college scholarships?? "Hey, this kid signed with UK, so let's put him on the All-Whatever team"". Or, do some lineman benefit from their the other linemen on the team? To single out 15 linemen out of at least 150 might not turn in the best results.

Lineman most certainly deserve recognition. However, to pick a 1st through 3rd team is almost impossible. WYMT has always listed the O-linemen as a unit. I have to say that is the only way to remotely do it justice. Just curious though, can any of you give me the top 15 O-linemen from Pulaski County to Lawrence County??? That's a 24 to 27 county radius covering over 40 teams. Go ahead... I'll wait..... Also, I think that NO station has given the Bobcats more attention than WYMT. If so, name them. Week after week, I watch Sports OT and see Bell County Highlights, weekly soundbites, and other stories. The game was televised on WYMT... not to mention an entire Saturday of cut-ins dedicated to the State Title game. Maybe when it comes down to it, you guys don't watch as much as you think. The guys at WYMT put in more hours than any of you will ever know.... and they do it for the kids.... not the adults, which seems to be the ones that always complain.

I spoke with Roy Evans in Richmond a couple of weekends ago. He told me that he played for the Cowboys.

Tim Dixon was a RB in the mid 90's.... I believe that he had a couple of 1,000 yard seasons.

The 1993 Cawood D gave up like 52 or 57 points.

Roy Evans played for the Dallas Cowboys. James Earl Hensley kicked a 37 yarder for Cawood against Knox Central in 1998...... I think.

Mike Anderson did it in the 80s. He played for both Harlan and Cawood against Lynn Camp in the same season. Looking back on it, it is possible that I might have misheard him.

I'm going hit him at home. HDE... who is the last Harlan County player (Cawood, Cumberland, Harlan, or Evarts) to connect on a Field Goal of 35 yards or longer? What player scored the winning touchdowns in Breathitt County's 2 State Championships in the 90's?

It's to my understanding that Milam will be at WYMT as long as he wants. He filled the open position and seems to be in there for the long run. Brandon Hensley (former Sports Anchor) is in fact down at the Cumberlands in the Sports Information Department, but not as the SID... just as a student assistant.
