Bell County's kicker/punter Monte Merrick: Longest FG in state this year: 56 yds. against Rockcastle. Third longest distance in Ky prep history.

 

71 touchbacks on season! Kickoff distance ave. around 68 yds.

 

Yeah sure is a shame a kid this good only got honorable mention in all-state. I know for a fact the 3rd team all-state kicker set a school record this year with a 37 yarder. I feel the Oldham kid from BG who has hit on 56 consecutive XP and the Cain kid from Owensboro should have been at least honorable mention. Oldham led all state kickers in points with I can't remember but it was a bunch and Cain was the 2nd leading scorer for OHS with 53 points. These 2 kids are going to put up some really big numbers next year, Oldham wil be a senior Cain a sophmore.

 

I found all the state stats on Maxpreps and the 3 boys mentioned above were in the top 10 in every kicking category and for the most part top 5. Cain's stats for the playoffs are not posted on there for some reason.

Woodford County's Curt Strange set a school record for INT 10, Sophomore Kristian Larsen had 8 and, The defense had 25 over all.

He was 64-68 PAT's; 5 FG's (long of 56 yds.); about 38 yd. ave on punts....although Bell only punted about 16 times all season! Two punts were disasters averted by errant deep snaps. He got off fifty plus yd. kicks on both...but only had about 15 yd. official totals on both...hurt overall average. Longest punt was 67 yds. I believe from scrimmage. I don't think our guys get much attention down here on the all state teams in SE KY. KIcking game is getting stronger in Kentucky. Look forward for great things from all of these guys next year!

All you ever talk about is offence, how about Brad Herald #42 for Holy Cross who had 130 tackles this year

Here is an amazing Stat about Trinity from since 1999 only 3 KY schools have held Trinty to 14 points or less (not including the rain out game). Can any one name those schools?

That is impressive.

Looking at the Trinity stats website it is interesting to note that in 2007 the Rocks offense set new team records for a season in several categories: 314 first downs (20.9/game), 3,999 yards passing, 6,538 total yards (rushing/passing combined) and 435.9 yards/game. The 690 total points is second only to the 2002 team (785) and the 8.1 yards/play is second only to the 2006 team (8.3 yards/play). To average almost 21 first downs/game is astonishing. The next closest teams were 2002 and 2003 at 279 total/year.

Congratulations to all of the coaches and players for these outstanding statistical achievments.

They may want to consider putting stats on Maxpreps because when we were in California I saw it advertised on TV out there which means more exposure. Just a suggestion but the more exposure the better.
