I'll ask again, can you point out to me where it says that magnet schools and open enrollment would be eliminated? I could see scaled back, if we returned to resides districts, but I promise you that Manual would still be an all-district school, as would Male and probably Butler. Didn't RP already explain to you that point? By the way, I know who Todd is. Do you? As in, REALLY know him, or just read about him and catch a sound bite on TV? 'Cause not to belabor the point, but I do. And for the record, resides districts would be an alternative if the race based assignment language were removed. But it won't be what they do. Todd threw that out there to an NAACP sponsered meeting for a REASON. It's called rhetoric. What will happed is the second option. Just trust me. And could you PLEASE provide a link to your statement about the new superintendent? I'll just keep asking until you do, or admit that you don't have one.

Link? I read the article in question. The concern is for kids that don't take advantage of magnet programs and the advanced program and just go to their home schools. NO WHERE in that article does it say that JCPS will be eliminating open enrollment or the magnet programs. thomam, we all know that your extremely hostile to the current JCPS assignment system. But trust me when I say that I am WAY on the inside on this, and that magnet schools aren't going away, and unless the county school system breaks up we will not be returning to neighborhood schools.

Not happening. Just so you know, JCPS would continue as we know it without racial assignment. At this point, school choice and Magnet programs are the driving force behind busing at the high school level, especially for the so-called 'Louisville powers.' And that's not going away, no matter what the ruling us,

It's getting deep, anyway. Could Riverside be any more obvious? I recall a pick for Manual against X last season from Riverside. Players might read these threads, or they might get put on the lockerroom boards, but there's no need to manufacture motivation.

Jerry Smith, who led the Big East in 3pt % as a freshman, is 6'1". In the NBA, it might be a questionable height, but not in college. A shooter doesn't need to be a SG, by the way. I trust Rick will put him in the best position to use all his talents. I just meant that this team needs more players that can knock down open shots with regularity, because we didn't have enough of that last season.

Coach Crum's take on Knowles was that once he learned the difference between a bad shot and a good shot, he'd be a very good shooter.

Louisville needs shooters. Knowles is a shooter. How is this a bad fit? Usually we read things about how nice it would be to see local kids stay in state. I guess that only applies to one institution...

Well, to be honest, if my prediction is true, then yes, Manual does need lights. But if my bold prediction is off base, and we remain a prolific option rushing team, then I'll take those lights. Although they aren't NEARLY as bad as some people (mostly Trinity fans) like to make them out to be. I mean, I know the sun never sets on cool, but just drop the shades for games at night...

Trinity, Male, X, HC were all clearly better off the top of my head. Are you saying that you're SURE Ryle belonged in the last spot, and there's no way there was a 5th team that was better?

But both of your examples aren't in this era. You could argue that in THIS day and age, both of those players would have been bigger recruits. Per the initial post of this thread, scouting services also follow who's getting interest from college coaches. If a kid is good, sends film to coaches and they see enough of what they like to scout and follow the player, that player WILL get noticed by these websites.
