  1. The fans might, but poll voter behavior doesn't work like that. In fact, a loss to Michigan is the worst for the Buckeyes short of a loss in the B1G title game. Lose this week to Wisconsin and maybe voters move them back above Louisville by the end (I would be surprised, but it's possible.) Lose late in the season? Nu-uh. Not happening.
  2. Louisville's schedule is weaker, but it isn't so much weaker that a one-loss Ohio State would jump them to the title game.
  3. Vegas does their odds based on the AP top 25 now? Interesting.
  4. Gardner has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns, and even accounting for his work on the ground it's only 12 toundowns to 10 turnovers. There is no modern offense in which that is serviceable, and certainly not compiled against a schedule of: Central Michigan Akron Notre Dame Connecticut
  5. And I'm not the only person who thinks that UCF is better than a few of those teams, as UCF is: a) currently just outside the Top 25 at #27, and b) less than a TD underdog to Bama. How many of those teams do you think Vegas would peg as within a touchdown of the Crimson Tide?
  6. You listed 7. Go back and check. And what have the Wolverines done that makes you so sure they would be favored over UCF if they played that game in Orlando? Have you watched them? Gardner is terrible.
  7. Penn State is several teams now? I know the NCAA is going to give them back some scholarships, but I had no idea it was so many. I think you could safely strike Michigan as well, for the record. I would take UCF over the Wolverines in a heartbeat.
  8. But I did say this: And, yes, I admit to taking a little liberty with the headline.:lol2:
  9. To be less coy, Louisville offered tOSU to fill a home date this season with no return to Louisville required. Ohio State demurred.
  10. If you think Louisville was the holdup on a game with Ohio State, I don't know what to tell you.
  11. They're giving him plenty of props at halftime of the Michigan-UConn game. Yardage is one stat, TDs another--and right now he leads college football in that catergory.
  12. Yes, nothing to see here--running quarterbacks never get dinged up.
  13. I disagree on all 7, UCF is tougher than several. On the weight of the whole, I agree that OSU has a tougher schedule than Louisville by at least several steps... but I wasn't talking about my opinion.
  14. John Anthony is harder on Louisville and Bridgewater than most with good reason; it might not be true of every team and every QB, but an unbeatean UofL and Teddy would leapfrog a one-loss OSU and Braxton Miller to the championship and Heisman. The B1G isn't the most revered conference in post-season play, and Ohio State's schedule is only considered a small step up from Louisville's by the talking heads who think football begins and ends with the SEC.
  15. His ankle got rolled on the play, but he played through it, got retaped and seemed fine after that. Last season he played the last two games of the regular season with a much more serious ankle sprain and a broken wrist. Off the top of my head it was the other ankle, but I know he has always played with both taped (and a pack of gum in each sock).
  16. The offense was fine on Saturday and put up almost 500 yards despite the fact that Louisville's best player and the engine that runs that offense played a very mediocre game.
  17. I just thought I would mention that Louisville is #6 in the poll that actually matters.
  18. Case in point: The only mention of the game on ESPN's main NCAA football page is a video entitled "Louisville Sluggers" going over UofL's ground game.
  19. Three things: 1) Louisville did beef up their schedule, several times. It kept falling apart. Georgia, Vanderbilt, SDSU, TCU, Boise St and others at one point or another were all supposed to be on the slate this year. Louisville tried all off season to make a deal with ranked teams with open dates, even offering deals with uneven returns which Jurich doesn't like (with good reason, as Louisville pays for all their athletic improvements themselves.) Texas A&M, Bama, VaTech, Michigan and Ohio State were all approached, all chose other games. 2) After rewatching the game I think the blame for Louisville's underperformance is mostly on Teddy. His game reminded me of Russ Smith when he's ice cold and still chucking up threes and going 5 on 1. Bridgewater was immature yesterday; when he took what the defense gave him, Louisville moved the ball, but he got impatient. I don't think he's going to enjoy film this week. Otherwise, the run game was fine once they changed from a pulling scheme and the defense was obviously great. The coaches also singled out Parker who apparently didn't run his routes correctly a few times. 3) I think that Louisville failed to make a resounding statement yesterday, and I'm disappointed in the lack of scoring, but you guys have put way too much into this game if you think this is what keeps Louisville out of the title game. The fact is, this game went largely unnoticed and the national story around this game was that Louisville was slow early and took care of business late to put away an SEC rival on the road. Right or wrong, that's the perception yesterday from people outside of Louisville and Lexington. The reality is that yesterday has very little to do with what bowl game Louisville ends up in. Either the right teams will lose or they won't, but no one should be under the impression that Louisville can force their way in, because they can't. The schedule is just too weak.
  20. Teddy was very mortal today. He was greedy early and pressed late. Even his one TD was a bailout catch by DeVante.
