Great win, Cory Jackson has the fastest first step I have ever saw. Mercer lost a little poise in the 3rd and 4th, but defense and a couple of big plays pulled it out. Good for Mercer to be tested, I think alot of kids learned alot tonight. A couple of Mercer kids need to control their emotions, or it will cost them later in the season. Biggest win I can remember, and I am a old timer.:thumb:

Looks like Anderson Co. did not exactly pick tough games, we will see how much they have improved when the district comes around.

Mercer Titan, how long has it been since you have been to a Mercer home game? We have had bermuda for 6-7 years, and the rubber "plugging" for 4 years. Granted, concessions and restrooms are not the best, but field is in great shape.

Undefeated? Championship? There were people at the game Saturday, that I have not seen at a game in 10 years! Some of them did not know what a first down was, and they were talking about winning the state. Travel with us to Russell, Belfry, or wherever the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th rounds are held, and you will discover how tough it is, to advance. Hopefully Mercer will be home a couple of games, but I believe it is our turn to travel, if Mercer makes it to the regional final and both 1 seeds are still in. Everybody calm down, and let the kids have fun, and let November happen. That's when it really gets fun.

NTRL, you are right as usual, Mercer has one of the best sports complexs in the state, and we are not taking advantage of it. Mercer has 3 weeks to make arrangements for seating and concessions. Parking is not an issue. Heck with the "gate" Mercer will have, we can afford to buy some bleachers. Garrard Co will be overwhelmed, when Mercer travels over there. Even when it was just Mercer, the place was packed.

Boy, that is shocking, that you would think that way.

Jackson and Ford big nights, but Nathan Griffith is the unsung hero, great blocks all night Nathan, to spring some big plays. Chris Lewis again was big on D.

New Mercer school song makes it's debut Saturday night.

Past 4 years? How about since the field was built, except for a year or two when Larry French opened up a little. But you know, I enjoy the running game.

Why is Mercer playing at AJ Field? Locker rooms are very small, restrooms are even smaller, parking will be an issue, and getting the field ready for just one varsity game, seems like a waste. Any ideas on this?

Merge happened over a 6 month or so period, did not become final until both school boards approved this spring. Chris Lewis was everywhere, all backs had a great night, Morgan had a great night. O-line could use some work, they will be needed in the coming weeks.

Rain could slow Mercer down a bit, but I still say 36-14 Mercer. Anybody in the know, know how the backfield is going to start out? Walker going to play?

I did not get to go to scrimage, how did the QB battle shake out, any clear cut leader? O Line look any better?

What Mercer needs to be, is undefeated in November and December. I think Mercer will struggle a bit early, and hopefully have personnel sorted out and a set line-up, when they play Lloyd and Newport. As always, we will have to beat Russell somewhere down the play-off line to advance.

Any word on what time this will start? @ Danville Stadium?
