when Russell played in 3A, did they play up? or were they a 3A school by enrollment?

Russell's record in district and the regionals is very impressive and I look for them to continue to dominate when they move to 3A next season, but only 2 championships in 10 semifinal appearances? Once again, they would have been a medium 3A school. It won't be sad for us, believe me, we all have worked too long to be sad about a trip to Louisville.

80%?????? You have to be kidding. maybe 30% if that, we have 4 backs that have rushed for 100yds, more than once. The Griffith kid that rushed for 140+ yards against Russell last year, very rarely carries the ball.

OK, joe and coldweather, let's admit it, the merger was all about beating Russell in football. We got the Harrodsburg Board of Ed to vote for the merger, we also got the Harrodsburg parents to hold a fake meeting to discuss why the merger was a horrible idea, and then got most of the Harrodsburg students to walk out of class protesting the idea of merger. Then we uprooted 200 students to bus them back and forth from campus to campus. Yada, Yada , Yada. So now we have come clean, and I feel better about it.

Thanks Gus, the point was that alot of schools are changing after this year, and some have an advantage. 2A is 2A this year period. Boyle and Lex Catholic, a few years ago, were playing in 2A, but due to increased enrollment were small 3A enrollment schools. If the KHSAA had not decided to change the system next year, the issue would have not so big. I for one enjoy playing Russell (and glad for once it is not at Russell), because it is the type of football I enjoy to watch and you will always get their best effort.

Boy, that is unfair, playing in 2A all year, when you are a 3A school.
