  1. I have heard that several Freshman have quit this team. Maybe Proud Eagle can fill us in on why they are quiting.
  2. Proud Eagle if you know so much about B-ball why did they not give you the job. Whoever mentioned earlier about the parents being the problem hit the nail on the head. Starns should be fine for now, only a very few remain that could cause him problems and they/he seems to be satisfied at the moment. But from what I hear they are several more parents in the middle school program that could cause major problems once their child puts the Eagle uniform on. If last years coach had lost three games in a row their would be 7 pages on BGP bashing and saying he needed to be replaced, but this year they just need a break or there not eating good, excuses excuses excuses!
  3. What can I say positive about three L's in a row. I am not bashing JC, I just get aggravated at people when JC posters on here say their program is now supposed to be in so much better shape than it was a year ago and in reality it's not. Prestonsburg has not beat JC in the last 4 or 5 years and Lawrence is not supposed to beat the Eagles this year. Perry Ct. is a solid team and will beat many teams this year. But if I can remember correctly J.C. had 19 wins last year and they are not going to come close to that this year. J.C. is a good team, and is a contender for the 15th title, but there chances this year are no better than any of the last 4 yrs. Just my opinion.
  4. Nice win for the Dawgs. The freshman Chandler Thompson is going to be a very nice player in the 15th region in the upcoming years. The Dawgs are doing much better this year than most predicted they would in the 57th and 15th region. This is not a team anyone will want to draw to play in the first round of the tournament. Who would have predicted they would beat J.C. and Paintsville in this their first year. And if they beat Sheldon Clark Friday, they will pull off the sweep. Because if my memory serves me correctly they beat Magoffin earlier in the year.
  5. Poor JC will be lucky to win 2 or 3 more games. Tough schedule awaits them. At least we won't have to listen to their fans until they win. They seem to hide when they lose.
  6. Funny you bring up last year's coach. I'm pretty sure he was sitting on the Lawrence County bench.
  7. Where are you Eagle Fans, what is your guys take on the game? Are your Eagle's in trouble or will they bounce back against a very tough schedule coming up. IMO, McCarty has to get more touches/shots for this team to be successful.
  8. I caught the second half of this game on the radio tonight. What has happended to the Golden Eagles? I thought they were much improved from last years squad. I don't think so, no way is Lawrence Co. supposed to beat this Eagle team. Hat's off to Coach Anderson and this Lawrence Co. team on a big 57th district win. Sounds to me like this Thompson kid is the real deal, 25 points and at least 15 boards. Maybe this kid is making a run for best player in the 15th region after tonights performance. J.C. better get it together quick because it don't get any easier anytime soon. I bet ol' Dougie aka Bulldog is one happy camper tonight.
  9. Easy on J.R. there Ace in the Hole. Maybe you should call him and ask if you can be his assistant and iron things out for him. Who do you think the Cardinal's will go after if Mr. Hammond is asked to step down? One of the Stepp boy's maybe????????????
  10. Come on guy's who do you think does the best job at calling high school basketball games. My vote goes to John Doug Miller the voice of the Paintsville Tigers. He keeps you involved and he always keeps you aware of the score.
  11. Somerset by 8. That's a heck of a coach they have in Briarjumper country.
  12. Wow! This is a shock, I can't recall the last time JC was beaten by Prestonsburg. Probably 4 or 5 years, if I was guessing. Congrats Blackcats on a good win and I doubt if you will be taken lightly the rest of the season.
  13. Nice win for the Dawgs, the radio said that Thompson had 31 points. A big game coming up Friday night against the JC Eagles. Should be a very good game if Thompson matches his performance tonight. This could be my upset pick of the week, and it's at Lawernce if I am not mistaken.
  14. Pike Central 68 Magoffin Co 62 Is Lowe a senior for Pike Central? Nice looking player, IMO could be the best the 15th has to offer.
  15. Are you starting to second guess Coach West, Napster?
  16. Coach West and the Hornet's really need one of these big win's, when and if it ever happens they will be a dangerous team. IMO the kids just don't believe they can win, this could be a very dangerous team come tourney time.
  17. Give Jamie a break Firebird, without him this year you probably only have 3 or 4 wins. Enjoy your success and let all of the other stuff go.
  18. Hat's off to your Eagles Black Wire, Rice was huge in this one. Should be an interesting re-match. The Music kid is a heck of an athlete, how many guards does this Johnson Central team have. Is their a big-man in the works? Fannin and Rice are seniors I think. Is it true that some of the freshman quit the team to work on wrestling/footbal?
  19. I do not know this Blanton kid, the only two I am aware of is the McCarty and Rice kids. I watched them play last year. I sometimes think Starnes plays to many players and it is hard to get into the flow of the game. Needs to settle on about 7 or 8.
  20. PHS 77 JCHS 67 I look for Pugh to hold McCarty in check w/ Rice having a big game, but Eagles fall short. Lack of scoring from the guard position will be the deciding factor in this one. JC's guards except McCarty have not been in an atmosphere like this one.
  21. This by no means was Oak Hill! A game that J.C. should have played alot more tougher than they did. No excuses, bottom line.
  22. A 35 point beating is never good for any team, no matter who give's it to you.
