MY ADIDAS Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Paintsville up next. Tough place to go after losing this bad.
firebird Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Honestly Central did not play terrible. They were just way overmatched as would any other team be out of the 15th region against Broward. I dont think there is anyone in the 15th region that could stay within 30 of them.
stick1 Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 WOW! I thought they would lose but not that bad!
firebird Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 WOW! I thought they would lose but not that bad! Stick, Personally I would rather play this type of competition night in and night out during the regular season and take the 35 point thumpings than have the 30 point regular season wins, such as this weeks win over Allen Central. Central was only down I think about 16 in the 3rd quarter of this game at one point and Haney never pulled his starters until about a minute left in the game. Central really didn't embarrass themselves by their play tonight, even though the outcome of the game was going to be obvious from just watching Broward in warmups. They were just way overmatched talentwise.

I agree with playing better competition but getting beat that bad isn't good for the pshcye. I hate playing cupcake teams but am not real big on teams that beat your brains in either. I think playing teams a little better than you that you have a chance to beat if you play your best is the best way for teams to grow. Oh well what's done is done. It really shouldn't effect JC much with the Paintsville game looming ahead. That's one game that no kid from either school should have to be motivated for!

How often can it be said that they got to play against a high profile national program. Again they really did not embarrass themselves regardless of what the final score was, and yes, I am fully aware of how that sounds.
knightsdad Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Haney never pulled his starters until about a minute left in the game. That statement is only true if you count the top 10 or twelve as starters. Haney rotates a lot of players in and out, at least he did in the second half which was all I saw.

That's true but with a minute left in the game he subbed all 5 players out at the same time with some players that had yet to enter the game. They may be of the same caliber as the one's he subbed for , IDK, but it was Marino that that hit the 35 footer at the buzzer. Central was just plain overmatched.
Play 2 Win Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 That's one game that no kid from either school should have to be motivated for! Are Johnson Central HS and Paintsville big rivalries?
MY ADIDAS Posted January 15, 2006 Author Posted January 15, 2006 I wonder what kind of excuses you will use after Tuesday.
thegame523 Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 The fact that N. Broward won does not surprise me at all, but the score or point differential really does, and probably for different reasons than most of you, as I am from Florida, and North Broward is not one of the better teams in Florida this year as they normally are. Unless they have had some players become eligible at the break, they are not expected to be much of a threat to make it very far in the playoffs down here in Florida. None of this is meant as any disrespect to Coach Haney, as I have always thought he is one of the better coaches in the southeast if not the country, he just doesn't have the type of players that he has had in the past there.
Dino Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 I wonder what kind of excuses you will use after Tuesday.Off topic, but Paintsville's home court advantage is legendary. I don't think that Johnson Central will need any excuses if they lose at Paintsville. The Tigers are a powerhouse at home. I believe that they are still undefeated there.
ace in the hole Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 I wonder what kind of excuses you will use after Tuesday. You are so weak. What excuse did Paintsville have against Harlan? Without there best player. I believe i would much rather lose to North Broward than to Harlan. Sorry to get off the subject.
