I don't think that anyone is going to do that! I'll agree that it will be a good game, but there won't be anyone knocking them on their butt. It will be a fight until the end for sure! :fight:

I wasn't saying that they shouldn't be the underdog, or should be the underdog. I was just going for the Underdog! It seems like most that have posted put them as the underdog by 10 or more. I was basically just wishing them luck in my empty statement! :eek:

Everyone who is planning on just listening to the game, might want to take a trip down the AA and watch this one in person! This should be an interesting match up between two good schools. But, if that is not possible, I know Danny Weddle will do an outstanding job on the radio. He always does!

I wish those highlands kids some luck then, if they are that much of the underdog!!

I agree completely. This is HIGHSCHOOL! Since when do we pay these kids to play these sports?? Who in the world does this guy think he is saying something like that? Come on now - these are boys. Let them play whatever they want, and if it is basketball and football - congrats to them to be skilled enough to play both! How about Michael Bush? Male stand out for football and played basketball as well. I bet he wouldn't have wanted him to pick - he might have picked football!

Mason is 4-1 losing to Scott County today. Won so far against Lex Cath, Bourbon Co, South Laurel, and Montgomery. 10th Region Fresh look pretty competitive - should be a good year. Scott and Mason on top.

Mason County’s Wiley Brace made a nice tackle to bring up 4th down and 4 to go 6:40 to go. Mason County just can’t stop the run late in the 4th. Stevenson for Lafayette is doing a good job just hitting the holes. Mason County’s defense has been on the field all night. Mason County has just turned the ball over multiple times tonight, and against a team like Lafayette you just can’t make those mistakes. The score is 20-6 Lafayette, on a 10 reception for Lafayette. Giford for Lafayette caught the short pass.

Late 4th quarter 4th and 2 to go. Mason county fumbles the ball. Lafayette takes over. Another Mason County turnover is just killing the royals offense.

Mason County defense is played a great game, and Darius Miller had a great steal, oh interception. He reached out with his long arms and just made a great play. His athletic ability is just unmatched by others. Cox came into the game early 4th quarter, gutsy kid will take a hit. First down Mason County by a good run by cox.

11 yard run by chase Crawford longest run for Mason Co. Marshall is the fullback. Middleton connected with miller on 19 yard pass play. Tony Browning moves in motion, Chase Crawford is the tailback. Mason County did have problems moving the ball. Browning is the Slot Back. Chase Crawford 12 yard touchdown run off the option with Darius Miller throwing a key block. Mason County missed the extra point below the cross bar. Nathan Stahl was the holder. 49 yard 7 play drive for the Mason County touchdown. Poor job tackling late in the 3rd quarter against Lafayette. 63 yard run for Lafayette. 4 or 5 missed tackles on that play. Buchannan indicated that the key to the game. Mason County presently is making numerous era’s on defense late in the game. Cory Layman for Lafayette scored a 1 yard touchdown run. 63 yard run by Layman, 6 plays 80 yards. Nathan Stahl seems to be a key component of the Mason County defense. Jeremy Thompson returned the kickoff for 16 yards. Thompson seems to really find a hole when he is returning kicks. Chase Crawford 5-9 175 pds. Tough as they come in the backfield. Tony Browning & Darius Miller are wide receivers. Chase Crawford called for holding late in the 3rd quarter. Middleton was sacked for a loss of 3. Poor protection & horrid job blocking up front for Mason County. Cameron Pollet 29 yard punt. Mason County 6 Lafayette 14 end of the 3rd quarter

Chad Simms deserves the head coaching job @ PC and I think Coach Biggs would tell you the same thing.........He's dedicated and gives 110% to the kids and the game..........If Pendleton hasn't made it a done deal, then they should..........I saw someone on another thread saying Coach Simms doesn't have the experience as a head coach, but if you think about it, no coach would every have any experience if they weren't given the chance to become a head coach.......Bottom line, every coach out there is an assistant before they become a head coach........Coach Simms will do a great job!!

Stripes 3........I don't think anyone has implied that UK would have won a national champ. if Lofton was on the team.........But I think everyone agrees that UK would have had a chance to be a better team w/ Lofton........Lofton was one of the biggest "misses" in UK basketball recruiting, so as far as other people comparing recruiting misses to the Lofton miss, especially when it comes to Kentucky kids, then I would say you'll hear that for a couple more years...........Especially when Lofton continues to come to Rupp and torch us for 30 plus.......Anyway, Lofton wasn't ranked very high nationally either, so I don't put a lot of emphasis on those rankings.........I think a good national ranking has a lot to do with the team you play on, camps you go to, etc.......I've seen guys with high rankings make very little impact and guys who barely crack the rankings be all-americans............ Anyway, back to thread on Miller.........Not sure, who's giving him the OK grade on his ball handling skills.........For a kid 6'6", or for that matter in general, his ball handling skills are very good........As a matter of fact, he handled the ball on the perimeter for Mason Co. a lot this year and even brought the ball up the floor some.........You won't see a 3 man in college bringing the ball up the floor.......His range definitely extends beyond the 3 point line and he has a nice stroke, but he does need to get more consistent shooting the ball from behind the arc.........I really shoudn't say consistent, I should say confident........He has the potential and will be a solid 3 point shooter when he get's confident enough to just catch and shoot.....This will open up his drives to the basket even more........Anyway, Darius' upside is unbelievable and he doesn't need any national recruiting analyst to verify that........

Chris Lofton (Mr. Basketball 04) isn't doing too bad at UT..........Griffith and Unseld weren't too shabby either........

Isn't that why we have the All "A" tournament?..........This is a state tournament for the smaller schools..........When you think about it, the middle men, which are the 2A schools, are the ones who should be complaining.....They don't have a "separate" state tournament like the All "A", yet they still have to compete with the 3A and 4A schools to win the big one.............Keep things like they are..........

After watching this game I would definitely like to see a shot clock in high school basketball..........Probably 45 seconds.......Anyway, congrats to Apollo on the win........The Royals didn't have a good shooting game and when you play a team like Apollo you'd better knock down shots because once they build a lead you're in trouble.........Apollo handles the ball very well and will force you to guard them........Very patient on offense........Kind of reminiscent of the old Dean Smith four corners when they started running their spread offense............I know the shot clock would be a fund issue, but I think the KHSAA needs to take a look at this.......Even if you had a 50-60 second shot clock you could slow the tempo of the game down, but at least you wouldn't be able to hold the ball for 2-3 minutes a time........

This thread wasn't posted last year when Mason got beat in the 1st round of the region tourney, so why bring it out now?..........Oh yeah, that's because they won the 10th region title again!!.....Maybe we should break out the tape measures and make sure the goals are 10 ft. also..........Didn't they do something like that in "Hoosiers"..........Anyway, Pendleton and Clark beat Mason this year at the Fieldhouse during the regular season........Mason in turn beat Clark at a neutral site and Pendleton at home.......Mason beat Brossart at Brossart.............What I'm trying to say is, everyone knew this region would pretty much come down to those four teams and whoever had a better night would win this region..........Just so happens Mason had a better night..........It's not like Mason came in as a district runner-up and made a magical run or anything......With that being said, I hope all these other gyms do get to host the 10th region tourney......That way, we can start giving a little bit more credit to the Mason Co. players instead of making an issue out of something they can't control..............IMO, the best team has won the region every year since I can remember........
