Just ended on the radio. This game was a lot closer for the first three quarters, with Male pulling away after leading 29-27 at half. Trinity turned the ball over quite a bit in the 4th quarter, leading to easy baskets for the Bulldogs. The Dawgs and Rocks will meet again in 5 days in the opening round of the LIT.

Close game until the last 5 minutes with Trinity turning the ball over leading to runouts at the end.

 

Male gets great inside play from their back-up forward, #25. Beaumont goes for about 20 in the first half.

 

Gutsy effort by the Male kids but Wed in the LIT should still be a good game.

I believe turnovers were T-23, Male-7. Dexter Heyman did not play for Male (apparently at a football combine) and point guard Brett Berry did not play for Trinity (viral infection). T outrebounded M by 4. It was 45-44 Male at the end of the 3rd quarter when M banked in a 3-pointer from the left of the key to go up by 4 at the end of the quarter. T never recovered as M had many run-outs in the 4th. M made it a lot tougher in the 2nd half for T to get the ball in to Jacobs. Beaumont had 18 in the first half. He had numerous steals, many coming off passes from T's rebounders. Both Heyman and Berry are expected to play on Wednesday in the LIT.

Great game for three quarters. In the fourth Male made everything they threw in the air. At that point I sort of knew it wasn't our night. It was a little warm in that gym. Looking forward to seeing these two go at it again at the Gardens, with a different result I hope.

Just some advice for the student section. The Brokeback Mountain shtick is dated. Time for some new same sex references.

I had heard that he wanted to but if the game was cancelled then Male would not have had any games between the 5/3 Tournament and the LIT, so they decided to go ahead and play.
