First thing that has to happen is the Coaches at Shelby need to not over coach. Approach this game as they have done each week. In other words don't lose the mental game..... As for Collins has never lost to Shelby and they just have to keep the mental edge. This should be a good one.

I dont agree with the comment LCA shouldn't won. Actually should have won by a much large margin. They let penalties extend drives 3 times and bobble a punt that should have just left it alone. LCA should have won by 21.

Because I want members like you to share your thoughts about who I left off. There are several players through out the state that I failed to mention for the reason to start conversation.

Damion Carter from Henderson is one I left off. But he has rushed for 1154 yards on 169 carries and 20 touchdowns. That is a 6.8 yards per carry.

We are approaching the end of the regular season with 3 weeks before we begin post season play. We have discussed many times the top teams in class 6A. We have talked week after week about Male and if there will be anyone who has the ability to beat them. This week I want to shift focus to the statistical leaders of Class 6A. Who are the guys making plays for their teams. What do they mean to their team? The Male Bulldogs are loaded with many talented players. We first think of Male we think of University of Louisville commit Kieon Wakefield. He has been slowed some this season, not by opposing teams but by injury. Wakefield has only played in four games so far. He has caught 7 receptions for 131 yards and 4 touchdowns. But they guy I think that has been making this Male offense move this season has been Quarterback Hayden Shelton. Shelton has played in all 7 games this season. He is 67 out of 110 pass attempts with 1447 yards. Shelton also has thrown for 14 touchdowns. Trinity has always been known for their offense fire power. They have always produced quarterbacks over on Shelbyville Road. This year their quarterback is Jacob Woosley who has played in all 8 games. Jacob has completed 106 passes on 155 attempts for 1420 yards and 13 touchdowns. Jalien Reed has been big at taking some pressure off the quarterback. Jalien has been big this season as he has rushed for 749 yards on 128 attempts. He has added 15 touchdowns. Scott County is known for their power run game and this season is no different as they have a pair of running backs this season getting it done. Noah Hughes has rushed for 772 yards on 78 attempts and 6 touchdowns. Keith Hut has rushed for 703 yards on 70 attempts and 15 touchdowns. That is pretty good balance between two running backs. Scott County has used several others this season that have contribute but not to the level of these two gentlemen. Simon Kenton this season has been out to prove they are good enough to compete for the state crown. They are doing it this year behind the legs of Dillion Powell. Through 7 games this season Dillion has rushed for 1092 yards on 142 attempts. That is 7.7 yards per carry. Dillion also has rushed for 15 touchdowns. Dillion also has caught 8 passes for 114 yards and 1 touchdown. St. Xavier has featured a dual threat quarterback in their offense this season. Desmond Rider has been the face of the offense for the Tigers. Rider has completed 68 passes on 126 attempts for 884 yards. He has thrown for 5 touchdowns. Rider has been just as dangerous on the ground rushing for 576 yards on 80 attempts and 9 touchdowns. Manual is another team that has a quality dual threat quarterback. Timothy Comstock has led Manual in offense. He has thrown for 828 yards on 71 out of 142 with 7 touchdown passes. He has ran for 404 yards on 50 attempts and has 3 rushing touchdowns. McCracken County this season started out slow with a new coach as he was trying to figure out the best way to use University of Kentucky commit Zyaire Hughes. Hughes under the new coaching staff has spent most of his time playing running back. Hughes has rushed for 718 yards on 68 attempts with 8 rushing touchdowns. He has caught 19 passes for 252 yards and added 3 receiving touchdowns. Ryle has been racking up the points this season as they have scored 288 points as a team. They are being led offensively by quarterback Tanner Morgan who has completed 107 passes on 170 attempts. He has completed 63% of his passes this season. Tanner has thrown 11 touchdowns. Tanner has also rushed for 152 yards and 3 touchdowns on 33 attempts. Coopers offense hasn’t been as flashy as some this season but they have been scoring some points. This season they have been led by their quarterback Nathan Brown. Nathan has completed 80 passes on 161 attempts for 1492 yards. He also has thrown for 14 touchdowns. His number one target has been Dante Hendrix, who has caught 39 passes for 925 yards and 10 touchdowns. I know these are just a few of the many offensive leaders in class 6A. Who did I miss? Will any of the ones mention win Mr. Football?

You are correct. They last team to beat Frankfort in district play was Danville in 2004. It is something that Coach Foley talks about with each senior class, tells the kids don't be the class that messes it up. It's all about trying to keep the 1 seed in the playoffs. As for keeping it alive this year, they have the talent to. This senior class lacks some leadership so Froday night is a toss up. Going into the season I would have said yes.

Dunbar winning 3 games does nothing for me. I still think they are not very good. There is the Top 5 and everyone else. There is a big difference between these two groups. I think you can take the next group of teams and they all could beat each other any given night.

Station only scored 19 points against a not very good Dunbar team- I would say they to would struggle scoring against the top 2 teams.

I would say finals could be moved to Sunday

No Coach Foley is still the head coach. He lost all but 1 assistant from his coaching staff. So it has taken some time for the kids to adjust. Yes they should be 4-3 without Robinson. They have have some good skilled talent. But they have some very young talent.

No- Frankfort lost a lot of senior leadership. Frankfort also turned over 95% of its coaching staff. They have a bunch of very young talent that doesn't have a lot of experience. Losing Robinson was a big blow. Honestly Inthink the Panthers should be at 4-3.

I don't like the idea of parents or fans being on the field after a game. Especially after a loss- Cosches and players need that time to get thoughts together.

Franklin County has plenty of talent. But I am starting to think their pre-district schedule hasn't prepared them. Shelby Valley, Western Hills, Frankfort - this is 3 games they could have replaced and worked on getting better.

Congrats to Spencer. Big Game when the Franklin County plays North Oldham. Flyer loss means they don't make the playoffs.

Congrats to the Panthers. Robinson has a broken foot. He is still is a boot. Doesnt look like he will return. They thought he would be back by now.

Frankfort should be 3-3. They should have beaten Paris, Estill, and Western Hills. This team is playing a lot of kids that don't have varsity experience. But they are very talented. Now it is gut check time for the Panthers. Either they will rise up to what they are very capable of or they will pack it in and go 0-10. It comes down the next 3 weeks to the coaching staff and the seniors.

Frankfort will win Friday. And has the talent to win the next 3 and the district crown. The issue will be if the coaching staff can rally the kids.

Could it be that Collins had better talent? Could it also be that Collins matched up with the Flyers better than anyone else has? I believe that District and playoff games are about match ups.

Spencer will be the most physical team the Flyers have faced. But I think the Flyers will win.

Western Hills can't throw the ball effectively to keep Catholic from loading the box. I think you see a Western Hills team ready to play, but in the end Catholic will be to much.
