Bethlehem's D held Campbellsville scoreless from the 10:04 mark of the 2ndQ on, and made a 4th-down stand in the final seconds as Campbellsville was driving for the winning score.

 

Matthew Hagan's 40yd TD run and 2pt conversion run midway through the 4th proved the game-winner as Bethlehem claims the district championship.

How did this happened? Everything I was reading says campbellsville should win by double digits.

Campbellsville lost 2 key players, including one of their best players in a long time.

 

I had Cville but thought it was still a tossup.

 

This is only a slight upset, if at all.

The loss of Young hurt them badly, however most still thought Cville was was on another level. Cvill had way more athletes than Bethlehem, they had way to much speed for Bethlehem. Having young and cubit cures several issues for cville on both sides of the ball. But, crucial TURNOVERS and missed opportunities were the story in this one for Cville. Great job to Bethlehem for doing what they needed to do to win. Much tougher playoff road for cville now!

It truly was until young went down and the Qb( unsure of his name) went down. With that being said I believe even with both of those players healthy they still don't beat a Russellville, or a Beechwood. I'm not one to blame a coach but even with the injuries they still are loaded with athletes and good players. The stuff he ran last night he hasent ran all year and the decision to go for 2? Credit Bethlehem for taking advantage of all that and wining a game everyone said they would lose by double digits.

Not trying to be mean, but they were long shots even with those guys. Campbellsville hasn't won a 2nd round playoff game since 1998's state SF team. Bethlehem has never won a region title and hasn't been to the region championship in nearly a decade. Both teams were playing for two home playoff games and the chance to pull off an upset at Russellville.

My apologies — I overlooked that. Regardless, neither flock of Eagles have been anywhere near a deep run in a long time. And going to Russellville and winning a region title was going to be an upset either way, even at full strength.

You don't gotta apologize. I've seen Campbellsville a few times since 2007. The hazard team I have rooted for several years has put them out the past few years.

I will agree beating Russellville would be tough but I would like there chances at full strength.
