I voted for X, because of their unbelievable defense, but nothing would surprise me with this game.

Really? No offense to Male but you and I both can agree that they're not the usual Redman team. St. X is a FAR tougher opponent. There's going to be no stopping them this season... possible exception of Trinity due to the relationship of rivalries.

I knew I didn't go to this game for a good reason. Congrats X... you better win the championship! And congrats Manual... best season since 2001 (better, actually, as much as I hate to admit it)!

I'd like to see Manual play some of the powerhouses in other classes like Bowling Green, Highlands, Danville, Mayfield (two of the most historical teams taking the field) etc.

If Manual wins, I'm looking forward to hearing one thing... "Whose house? OUR HOUSE!" I like that this game is getting the kind of attention it is. It's good to see Manual building a solid foundation of good games with the best in the state. Though it'd be GREAT to see them win this.

They beat Meade last year to advanced to round two where your Tigers pummelled them. Also my senior year in 02 we beat a North Hardin team with a forgotten QB called Woodson only to get beat by Male. It's REALLY hard to get past 2/3 of the big 3.

First potential game is an X-Manual rematch. If Manual can pull off the game off the century and then some I'd love to see the title game being Trinity v. Manual... that would be quite epic.

I agree as well. I can guess PRP will try quite a bit harder in this one, and with Manual itching for a St. X rematch they might forget what happened in 2001. This is probably going to be a pretty close game. GO RAMS!!! NEVER FORGET THE '01 RUN (or lackthereof)!!!

:thumb: I almost didn't show up to this game, and I'd truly be kicking myself if I didn't. It was AWESOME. But the crowd was told not to rush the field which made me feel kind of bad for the guys becasue they are missing out on quite an experience, but for safety purposes (and general class) I understand. GO CRIMSONS!!! The defense looked really good and the offense got the job done and then some... there was nothing I didn't like about this game.

Yup. As much as I hate watching their fans from the other side of the stadium (BGPers excluded), I can only WISH Manual students were on par with their fanaticism (which they actually have closed the gap a bit over the years, but aren't quite there yet).

If my history lesson is coming to me clearly, the very first game had a pair of brothers, one playing for Manual, the other for Male. The brother on Male's defense tackled the brother going for the game winning score on Manual's offense. It's ALWAYS been a rivalry.

If it's alltime LONGEST then they should go by the date, which for this list would make M-H 4th, which considering the three oldest rivalries are New Engladers, it's still quite an accomplishment.

I don't think I can stress strongly enough about how GOOD of a choice it is to attend Manual.

Oh yeah, I forgot... BEAT MALE!!! I saw a bunch of Manual students as I was walking from UofL's campus to my car... one girls was decked out like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. I love Red/White week. And I love Manual. GO RAMS!!!

I wasn't there, but my theory is that they may have done that to pad our QB's stats as he's apparently close to or may have already broken some passing records for Manual.

I picked Manual for the obvious reasons, but even logically I would pick them mostly because so much of this team played at the Pizza Box last year against X in the playoffs and want to leave it with a W pretty bad this time around (or so one would assume). Male does have a lot of usual speed to contend with, but Manual has pretty comparable talent. I'm looking forward to a great game.

Unless there was a miscommunication, I'd like to know how the score went from supposedly 28-13 to 42-31 in 5 minutes. :confused:

Thunderfield, 2001. Manual at Ballard. It was a close game that was nearly called, but only delayed. Before the delay, it was a very close game, but then something amazing happened afterwards. We came out and the stands were completely empty, and rain was pouring. We heard the boom of thunder which began the chant of a line from the fallen Quinton Hammond (#4 RIP, 1997) "You can't hold me, I'm bringin' thunder!" That field was like a monsoon, and the feeling in the air was pretty incomparable (that's emotional, not literal... literally the air was wet, really, really wet). We won 40 to 12. It was a lot of fun.

Now that you mention it, I believe they were the first team that we scrimmaged when I was a freshman. It was the only time we played a team at our own practice field. There's a chance I might actually be able to make this game, but we'll see.
