  1. You can't be serious? I'm over people complaining "take back our country!" We have elections every 4 years, if people don't like it, then vote out the sitting politicians, 2012 the people made their choice once again. But what you say that you "wish for"? That's called treason!
  2. Did you see when the Turkish president came to DC about 3-4 months ago? His "thugs" protection him went far across the line going after media and protestors, they even had scuffles with the DC police. Putin needs to pay close attention to this, dictators usually up having premature deaths by the hands of their own people and their own people. Give it some time and Assad will be killed too.
  3. Free Palace t-shirts, posters, and player cards at this practice
  4. On another note, thousands of people defied government orders not to protest in Iran today.
  5. Baghdad Bob's brother? It would would seem like this is more than just a small group, forces in two large cities acting? With ground and air forces?
  6. Any word on what's going on? A possible cu de ta?
  7. I'll say that I disagree. We have politicians who want to help people, and we should lead the way and be an example for the rest of the world to follow. BUT, how do we do that? YES! YES, we need to fully vet anyone! THIS is where both sides of the isle need to calmly say that they want to work to safely vet anyone. BUT, so far this has been the sticking point, the "we don't want them here", "we don't want Muslims", "Ban all Muslins", and two days ago I saw some calling on a "test" to be given to all Muslims in the US to see what they are up to, to see who they support? THIS isn't getting us anywhere! Come on right wing politicians, calmly but loudly tell the left wing politicians "YES! We will work on allowing refugees in the US, work with us on legislation to vet anyone, not just refugees, vet anyone and everyone with a fine tooth comb, and we all will ensure that they will have a safe stay in the US". THIS is how we need to do this! The arguing, the yelling, from both sides isn't working and will never work, and at the same time it's even showing the overwhelming kind Muslim souls that are citizens of the US that they don't matter, it shows them that they no one gives a darn about them, which makes it even more dangerous, that even more people loose hope and see that they are treated as an outcast. And the outcast are who the terrorists target to at least be lone wolfs, kind of being taken out of the old KGB playbook to recruit spy's in the US, go after teens and 20 something people who think that they are outcasts, as they will want to "get back at the world". As far as the photo that you posted above, last night I saved the close up of that photo, and posted it. Sad, sick, horrible, BUT, the world needs to see it, sadly the entire world needs to see the blood, the horror, with no censoring. Millions of people around the world are suffering, and we, all who are not suffering need to work together to fix this! I belong to a large number of FB groups for the refugees, I am active in many of them, I now sponsor 3 Syrian kids in Lebanon to go to school, this isn't a one year deal, it's until they get out of school equivalent to HS, which is at least a 5-6 year commitment on all 3. I have hand delivered thick envelopes to both Hillary and Trump containing letters from refugees, a lot from refugee children (over 30k Syrian children have been killed in the past 5 1/2 years due to that war), and letters from volunteers, as well as many photos of them in what are basically like concentration camps. We need to pressure all politicians to help! Rockmom helps with refugees in the Louisville area, I help at times with some up here in and near Cincy. These are amazingly kind, gentle, caring and loving people, who are half a world away from home, and scared as a person can be, they had to flee their own country, and now in a place where at least some people don't want them, and where some want to harm them as much as the terrorists and Assad forces. All of the refugees in the Cincy area are families, if I'm not mistaken all the ones who have been vetted are families. Yes, vet! Spend as much money as needed to vet! I'm not apposed to allowing single males into the US either, as long as they are fully vetted. BUT, almost all of them do not want to be half a world away, they want to be close to home, in hopes that the war will soon end then they can go home. The people being vetted are parents who are doing what any parent in the world would do, to protect their kids. We all need to agree to help, assure the people that we all, the world led by the US assuring their safety! YES! YES, the US HAS to be the leader as the worlds police force! We have done is so very well back in the day, and once the people see that we again mean business, and they see that we will live up to our word and that we will never abandon them, then they will trust us and work as close to us as possible. On a similar note, think of a number of Muslims around the world as being like people who live in an intercity in the US, and a high crime or high gang area. Why don't many of those people report crimes? Why don't many of them come forward to assist the police? Well, it's because they are scared, they are scared that if they help out the police, help to put the bad guys away, that they will be in danger, that no one will protect them. Well, the refugees, and the ones still in their homeland are the same as those people, they need to be shown that we will protect them no matter what! Let's all work together! Let's all stop with this Christian vs non-Christian garbage! As not only is this the only way that we will end this problem, it's the way that God himself expects us to go at it! What about people like Enes Kanter? A Muslim, people respect and like him because he is an athlete l, BUT, he is one heck of a great guy! If he wasn't a good athlete would people harass him for being a Muslim? Sadly many would. What about FC Cincy's Omar Cummings? A Muslim. Do the people who see these athletes as good athletes give them a free pass solely based on their performance as an athlete? Sadly it appears that this is how many think. In closing, that photo above, what religion is that little kid? It doesn't matter! It's a horrific and sad scene! The same as the thousands of photos and videos or Middle Eastern children in war zones. It doesn't matter what religion these people who were dead on the streets of Nice are, and the sick person who mowed them down didn't care what religion that they were either.
  8. Thank you, this is a much better answer than the one you have last night, as that one appeared to blame an entire religion. A terrorists doesn't care what religion anyone is from, if one does not see things exactly as they do then they will go after that person regardless of religion. Maybe I missed it, but was there a thread on here a couple of weeks ago when terrorists killed over 250 people in Baghdad? If there want a threat, they why not? Don't non-Christians killed count? As Muslims are killed by the terrorists at a much higher rate than non-Muslims. The lack of attention to such tragic events which caused the list of over 250 in Baghdad only fuels the flames and shows a lot of good people that the world doesn't care about them. Yes we need to really vet anyone, but the entire refugee crisis is the fault of the west, and the rest of the world! As the world has sat back for over 5 1/2 years and done nothing to help these people, especially in Syria, and after a couple of years of not getting any help these people decided to flee for safety. Where do these people go? They need help! Heck, then we have Turkey who many times start shooting at the Syrians trying to flee the war, including the woman and children. The worse thing that the world has done is to ignore these cries for help! Almost all of the refugees do not want to leave home, it's survival that they are looking for, and they would love for the war to stop today so that they can go back to rebuild tomorrow. BUT, look at photos of a city like Homs Syria, Even if the war ended today it will take at least a decade to rebuild, I'd say maybe two decades. I don't like all of the anti Oboma garbage, but the one thing that sticks out of him that I don't like is when he drew the line in the sand and dared Assad to cross it. Assad did cross it, and the world did nothing. That would have been the times to act, even Russia is dropping chemicals weapons on innocent Syrians now. Anyone who believes in a God should see that God can't be happy at the world today, so much hate, so many people being hurt, and so many people allowing people to be hurt. A serious question, the Orlando and San Bernardino shooters were U.S. citizens correct? Also, the young man from Cincinnati who they caught I know was a U.S. citizen, he was white as well, he attented Oak Hills HS in Cincy. But, he was the type of person that the terrorists target to do their destruction, thankfully this guy was caught before he acted. The war on the terrorist is in fact working, they have lost thousands of lives the past year, this is why they are going out around the world right now and why they are begging for people around the world to be lone wolfs. We are going to need everyone from all religions to get together to help, we need to show non-Christians around the world that we will fight with them, and that we won't leave them hanging, like the west and NATO did to Ukraine. If we all don't work together it will never work. One thing that we can start doing is to play hardball, and I mean with countries such as Turkey! We should hold them accountable for any crimes against people who are fleeing. We should work with countries like Turkey to erect suitable camps, with a heck of a lot of protection to even get near the camps, show the people that they are safe! CBDV, outside of the first sentence or so this was a general post and was not directed at anyone in particular.
  9. Palace will have a private practice session about 10:30am at one of the practice fields to the west of PBS. But, watching them from the bridge or the beginning of 2nd street is possible.
  10. ^ agreed! Let's look at the pre season NFL games, maybe not a sellout ever preseason game, but close. A pro European team, and from to top league in the world, should be a huge draw. I don't see any negative out of this, only positives. Watching the CPFC match in Philly last night I saw a lot of empty seats, looking at their average attendance it was right on the money of it at just a little more than 18k. I believe that the MLS average is about 21k? When, not if as its only a matter of time, when FCC makes the jump to the MLS, they will be on the top half on attendance, when they add the 8 new teams soon FCC will by far be the best new team when looking at attendance. I know that Gelslow (Randy take care of him and do something with him, ok?) doesn't like these mid-season friendly's, but I as a new soccer fan and all that I know who support FCC have been waiting for this match ever since it was announced. That a team from the top league in the world would want to play FCC, in fact, there were at least 5 other foreign teams who wanted to play FCC. Why? I was told that all of the offering teams mentioned FCC's amazing attendance for all of their attentions. (FCC's attendance is not only a topic for discussion within the US soccer circles). As you know, these matches are the foreign teams pre-season/ trainings, so one, they want to travel and get ready for their upcoming seasons which starts next month. And two, they are also looking to expand their fan base in the US. Through my sources, FCC already has offers to travel overseas for a friendly during their preseason next February and March. This is huge, and for what would be a team that is just halfway through their first ever season? I am told that CPFC is a team team that FCC has an invitation from and they will most likely play they at their place. Also, the players of FCC are looking forward to playing these top players, especially Nicholson, who while growing up in Britain has always had the dream of playing for a Premiere League team, but now he will get to play against them. And not only him, but any player from a 2nd or 3rd tier getting a chance to prove themselves Vs a team from that league.
  11. I'll be there too, I have some connections, look me up! I should be the only person there with a Crystal Palace #15 authentic home kit. Don't forget to also check out all of the other events going on Friday and Saturday for this match. Meet up at the U Square on Calhoun for the fan march to and into Nippert. Also, FCC always has a Fan Zone thing for kids that starts a few hours before the match, and Crystal Palace will also have a fan zone for anyone. And of course don't forget the big fireworks show after the match.
  12. ^ CPFC will have an open practice at Nippert Friday from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. Meet-n-greet and autograph session with CPFC players from 6:30pm to 7:00pm. There are several events planned Friday and Saturday, including a big fireworks show after the match.
  13. Some on the anti gun side, the anti-open carry side, just don't get it, and never will! I am not talking about the "we need more or sensible checks and all" crowd. So now on Facebook there are meme's going around about how there were 20 people who were open carrying at the Dallas protest that night? These memes were questioning why they all ran away from the gunfire. Of course these people are going to at least going to get away from the gunfire, they are protecting themselves. PLUS, how many LEO's were there? And how many more showed up within minutes of the start of the gunfire? Unless the people who were open carrying were know by the LEO's, it wouldn't be wise for them to go towards the gunfire. Also, some of the comments were saying such things about how if people think that they need a gun to head down to the local coffee then they are so paranoid and thus shouldn't be able to own any guns. These same people also acknowledge that there is a lot of voilence today. So which is it? Is it safe? Is there no reason to worry about any violence when you or your family goes out? Unless one gives an answer of a 100% no there is no reason to worry, then their comments about people who carry are paranoid is beyond words to describe how ridiculous those comments are.
  14. Bird Brain. I can see your points and the other side, the shirts can be and will be taken different ways. I just wish that these professional LEO's would have finished their assignment, then lodge their objections.
  15. I'm not. They agreed to the off duty assignment and they left their posts. These four shouldn't be allowed to sign up for off duty assignments ever again, that should at least happen. I'm not sure of Minneapolis, but Cincy officers get about $37 per hour for off duty assignments, at least that's the rate for such events as Bengal games and working off duty at the casino. Many officers work as many off duty assignments as they can, as you can see, the pay is very good! So these four signed up, leaving others out of this assignment. Also, in today's world, as we all know its dangerous, this event would be considered as a soft target. These four left their job and not only left open the players to possible harm, but also the fans and everyone else in attendance. I didn't find the shirts to be controversial, they could have been a lot worse. But if an LEO accepts an assignment they should finish that assignment, they can have their say after the event, make their complaints, and then decide to never work that assignment again. I didn't see where they were supposed to have been stationed at the game, but the more security the better! What if? What if something happened as a result of them walking out? I have been saying this for a couple of years, just wait, just wait, sadly the day is coming where there will be a tragic event at a sporting event in the U.S., the target is too large to be ignored by the bad guys, and those who are working security at these events will determine if there will be any lose of life, or will prevent it from being worse. Look at what happened in Parks last autumn, one suicide bomber was stopped by security at a gate or checkpoint, he was denied entry, had he gotten in the deaths at that stadium would have been worse.
  16. I don't know where I saw it, maybe it was here? But, it said something like "bringing up such things as black on black crime/killings in Chicago when talking about blacks being killed by police is like going to an AIDS benefit telling that cancer kills too".
  17. HB20, concerning what I posted about 6pm last night. I was out eating dinner with a few friends discussing a funeral that we are attending this afternoon and two of my friends were black. They brought up that video that I posted. They were telling me that what they and many black people they know would feel a certain way about an event, in this case their concerns that they are treated differently than white people. They said that when they bring their concerns, and their feelings up, that many white people don't listen to them, that many white people want to give a reason instead of listening. Forgive me if I didn't saw that as correctly as I should have in this post. But perhaps some of our non-white friends on here can elaborate on this if they could. I'll post this in a few other forums as well. But, any LEO, over a 1 million of them in the US, should listen to these concerns, AND every citizen needs to listen and see the concerns and the fears (fears of non-whites should be addressed as well) that LEO's have nowadays. I don't like how on like FB some people where sending out meme's pointing kit how the protesters ran to the officers when the shots started. YES! Of course they did, and I am sure that every single officers that night would have protected any and all of them! That's what they do! Losing 5 people that night was awful, but thankfully there were not more deaths, as it could have been a lot worse. I'd also like to see the short stories about each of these 5 officers, as well as any account from that night, such as where were they located when they got shot? Were they protecting or covering for citizens? Stories about them and their families.
  18. I posted this about a year ago. I think that all large cities should conduct this exact same thing, and that any leader of any activist group, as well as all politicians should attend! I also think that all white politicians and officers should attend a simulation of what the concerns are of non-white motorists and in other situations that non-whites have issues with.
  19. Agree 100% on all of this! Possibly war related stress played some role in this? PTSD?
