Dudley Part 2

Featured Replies

First off, congratulations to cville on the victory Friday night. As far as Dudley goes, the game was clearly over, yet cville with 16 seconds left threw a TD on no less than 4th and goal. To further add insult to injury a 2 point conversion was also tacked on. That lack of class is why Dudley did not shake hands. His players and assistants did though.

On the previous thread, someone referred to "NOT KNOWING THE SITUATION." I am willing to bet that person does not have a kid that plays for Dudley. Thus, how could they know the situation themselves?

As far as the game itself, Kendon had a great game as expected. He is a fine young man from a good family. I am looking forward to watching him on Saturdays next year. The problem with what happened Friday night is that we have lost sight that this is just a game. Some of these young men will go on to play in college but most will end their career as a senior in high school. These boys have grown up playing ball together since they were in elementary school. One previous post was right in that Dudley should show sportsmanship to his players. BUT so should Estes. The problem is that cville should enjoy this year as it is looking like a special year for the eagles. What happens next year when Kendon and a lot of their current talent is lost to graduation? Don't think for a minute that Dudley won't retaliate in a similar manner if given the chance. This is not going to lead to anything positive.

So, is he now the biggest baby in central Kentucky? I've had enough of his crap.

You don't want them to score late? Stop them. Their job isn't to pull the dogs off. If you don't want them to score, play better defense.

Dudley is getting pretty rediculious. This isn't Upward Soccer.

And for me, I love the fact that Campbellsville wanted to tack one on late. Love it.

Like Dudley hasn't done the same to other teams. Now that the shoe is on other foot he gets a dose of his medicine. I hope teams continue to run it up on him, sorry for Taylor Co kids, but your coach deserves it.

You all are correct. He has a history of such things. My note was intended to be a careful what you wish for situation. Classlessness tends to come back and bite you.

Who cares if someone ran the score up on Dudley's team. This man has cheated everywhere he's been. Karma is a witch and works both ways. But Dudley deserves for everyone to run it up on him. I just hate it for the kids playing for such a coach.

IMHO Taylor messed up hiring Dudley...he is not a good representative of this sport at its purest form. His influence can change some of these fine young men forever. Very sad for the players, parents, and alumni of this program.

Just maybe he will not screw your kid up!!!!!

Dudley and class in the same breath? Ha! Dudley all of a sudden has morals and won't shake hands?

As I asked a few weeks ago with no response, why does a school hire him when he has a past such as he has had?

Why hire him? Honestly because he has won in the past. I'm not saying I agree with it but that's the answer.

Had a coaching friend coach against his JV team once. Two kids go to the hospital the starters stayed in the whole time. They ran up the score pretty bad. After the game Hilton was asked why he didn't call off the dogs. His response was " Son it's not my fault you're that bad" now I had to clean that up because you can't us all the words he used.

Dudley Hilton is the Bud Kilmer of Kentucky football. :lol2:

Am I the only one who expects Dudley to be finished after this season? Why would Taylor have him back and why would he want to return? Am I missing something?

Bet he ends up in Bell County...just sayin'

Very simple. He is second in all time wins in Ky. The Taylor super has a coaching history with him. He knew Duds was available and the previous coach was struggling. Dudley is originally from Washington county and was slated to become Marion county's coach this season. The super wanted to get him before Marion did. All Taylor's people were told was about his winning history. Just now learning that he is probably the most hated man in KY HS football.

Don't think that will happen...just sayin'

Agreed, but to say Dudley didn't shake hands because of a late Campbellsville touchdown shows Dudley did NOT learn from his past.

And it DOESN'T make it OK, rationale/reasoning or not.

I do not care at all what the reason was. Period.

Coaches who don't shake hands think they're coming out ahead or proving something. They don't.

When ever has NOT shaking hands -- I'm talking just about head coaches, not players -- been the right or classy move?

Maybe Dudley is getting so far up there in age/ego that he just doesn't care.

But his latest antics -- plus the KHSAA breathing down his neck -- are doing him no favors, either.

Do we know for a fact that Coach Hilton did not shake hands after the game?
