Taylor County - HUGE transfer?

Doss 69 Taylor County 58 (Sweet 16 Quarterfinals)
That is the MO for both he and Goodin. What got me about the stripes was they called about 6 total fouls on both teams combined in the first half. In the second, they called around 40 total. I didn't notice a 34 foul discrepancy between the first and second halves of play.

Doss 69 Taylor County 58 (Sweet 16 Quarterfinals)
Yes, he and Sloan both seemed sluggish all night. That combined with the Doss shooting well (if I am remembering correctly at the half Doss was shooting around 60% vs. 30% for TC). And the rebounds. Made for a very long night for the Cards.

That was an issue. Was there ever a whistle in a TC drive? I saw lots of contact but never a whistle.

Mason County/Taylor County predictions (Sweet 16 1st Round)
On paper, yes. But TC has a way of letting teams hang around that they shouldn't let hang around. It shouldn't be a close game but it may be more interesting than some think.

Please keep in mind not everyone, myself included, is as in the loop as you are on this. Did they recruit Gaines, yes. Did Gaines recruitment raise scrutiny, of course it did. When you have the level of success that TC has had these past two years, other schools are going to look for anything they can do to derail you. After all the investigation, Gaines is playing tonight As for the vitriol, your post indicated a strong dislike for TC. Even though you are not a TC supporter, most would reasonably agree that TC has a relatively easy road to the final four. What I find interesting is the level of disgust for TC over Cox recruiting a kid. Recruiting occurs across the state not just at TC. There was even a thread devoted to that topic.

We will have to wait on Botswana to let us know, judging by the previous post, there is great vitriol for anything Taylor County.

Pig Williams Recruitment
Very excited for tomorrow's game. I am looking forward to getting to watch Pig play. A big game from him would really help him as a prospect with the next level

So what is your connection to TC?

Taylor County 86 Campbellsville 47 (20th District Senifinals)
I am a TC insider and am not sure what you are referring to. Please explain. I know that Gatewood is not well liked but then again success has a way of making that happen. I do know that others have tried to no avail to get Gatewood in trouble with KHSAA, but am not sure what you are referring to.

Why no seeding of teams in the Sweet16?
Good point. Taylor is 2-2 against the current field. Their two wins were against Dunbar and South Laurel. Yet they are ranked lower than both????? Just looking at winning % would be okay if everyone played an equal strength of schedule.

Mason County/Taylor County predictions (Sweet 16 1st Round)
Again, guys, let's try to have an objective discussion. It appears that Mason has not played anyone in the sweet 16. In comparison, Taylor's losses were to: Adair County (21-8) Bad loss all the way around Central (16-12) @King of the Bluegrass Owen County (29-4) @King of the Bluegrass - epic showdown Goodin vs. Williams St. James, MD (20-5) ranked in top 15 in MD (Maxpreps) Oak Ridge, TN (34-3) ranked 8th in TN (Maxpreps) Covington Catholic (28-7) 9th region runner-up Doss (27-5) 6th region champion Murray (29-5) 1st region champion Notable wins: Paul Dunbar (29-6) 11th region champion South Laurel (27-6) 13th region champion Current record against teams in the Sweet 16: 2-2 I would definitely be interested in seeing Mason's resume.

Mason County/Taylor County predictions (Sweet 16 1st Round)
Tallest on the team is a 6'6" senior. You may see him only in the waning moments of the game. He has signed to play college football. Tallest starter is Rafferty at 6'4"

Mason County/Taylor County predictions (Sweet 16 1st Round)
How many D1 offers does he have? The two guards in question are both D1 guards. Goodin signed with Xavier (currently ranked 5th in the nation) and Sloan has multiple D1 offers and interests. Granted I have not seen Pig play but the other two are not your average guards.

Mason County/Taylor County predictions (Sweet 16 1st Round)
That is the dilemma for Mason. Taylor is most comfortable spreading the floor. They will even go four guards to spread the defense to open up driving lanes for both Goodin and Sloan. You press those two and both can beat you off the dribble, you double team that leaves someone open. It can be a very precarious situation.

Mason County/Taylor County predictions (Sweet 16 1st Round)
You may be on to something. I don't feel like Mason should win a close one but yesterday one the Taylor players told me this would be the hardest game for TC. He said one of the problems earlier this year was that they would play to the level of their competition. If they do that it would be a close game. Gatewood has worked hard in the second half of the season to have the team maintain a go for the jugular mentality. If the right team shows up against Mason it will definitely be an interesting game. If the wrong one for Mason shows up, it will be a long night for the Royals.

Mason County/Taylor County predictions (Sweet 16 1st Round)
An earlier poster seemed to imply that Mason would be in for a long night because at the state tourney, the officials would take care of Goodin. They must have missed the 5th region tournament. It got so bad more than a few were wondering if one specific official would collect two checks after the game, one from the region and the other from Bardstown lol. The irony there is that Gatewood claimed the officials were "his boys from the 6th." With friends like that lol
