Impressed with the Colonels

Congrats to Cov Cath on the win. Beechwood is a tough team. Way to bounce back after a disappointing start to your season.

Hats off to Thrillville for the accurate prediction.

Congrats to Eddie on #1 .

Expected BW to be more competitive; but, CC's line just dominated. Completely. Just overmatched. CC better than I expected. Watch out HHS.

Many teams would have started with the same record if they played the schedule that Cov Cath had to last week's point.

Midway through 1st to middle of 3rd, CovCath dominated the lines. I don't get why Rash didn't get Slusher and their RB in space.

BW may be just fine in their class. This team does not have the O or D line to step up to 5A this year. Linebackers consistently sealed off and unable to make up for the D lines slowness and lack of 5A size. May still be very competitive in 1A.

CCH offense continues to improve. Still need to tighten up pass d a bit. Basically CCH was just to strong and overpowered the Tigers. BW will be fine and contend in 1a class. This is definitely a confidence boost that CCH needed. Never bought the pre game predictions by many on here that BW would win. There was no comparison on the class of teams each had played going into this game.

In fairness, Eddie called a very good game. They lost the ball in backfield fakes. He had them off balance

What is the series record since they resumed play in 2003?

Congrats to CCH. I was wrong questioning why some thought that the Colonels would exploit BW's line. They did, pure and simple. The Tigers just seemed off most of the game. Dropped passes, procedure penalties, missed tackles, badly timed passes, slow to the ball and the list goes on. Fieger was off a bit and some of his decisions were questionable. I would rather see the yips in game 4 than in game 14. Take what you can learn from the game and move on. The ultimate goal is still attainable.

Final from Ft. Mitchell.

My thoughts:

- As mentioned, the O and D Line play was the difference. Dare I say it? Men vs boys? OK, OK- just having fun with the ridiculous comments made from last year.

-Cov Caths O-line got a push all night- and Cov Caths D line (except for the first TD which bounced outside) could not be stopped. The most successful rushing attack was Fieger scrambling. Stringer was held in check except for the first TD run.

-Glad to see Thorson back- he played a huge game as did Stiens and Butler. Also glad to see Baute get in and get some snaps. That will be huge for the O line.

-Slusher got his no doubt- terrific player- but I've go to believe he was pretty worn out playing both ways and special teams.

- Mayer still growing into his position- once he learns to take a little heat off some of his deep balls look out. Loved his physicality in the QB power runs

- Running game very successful tonight- happy to see Dyer get some very positive yards which will help his confidence.

- Did BW's starting corner (#11) go out? At some point I really thought Cov Cath would throw a fade to one of their taller receivers against what was a pretty short Corner. Regardless, they didn't need it- the run game was rolling.

- Pretty classless move by the Beechwood band to play their instruments during play in a few of Cov Caths drives of the 2nd half. Besides being classless, it's also against the rules, which the Cov Cath coaches were yelling to the refs about while it was happening. Ridiculous that the refs completely ignored this and didn't at least give a warning.

- Terrific, terrific win by these young men who so very much deserved it- has to be satisfying to see it pay off after playing such a brutal unforgiving schedule thus far. Keep getting better boys!!!

Go Colonels!!!
