Nice Article on Patrick Towles
And before everyone starts picking on me for spelling Towles wrong , I know . I was more concerned about getting the link to open and when I went back to correct the spelling I couldn't. I'm sure a Mod will help me out here.

Nice Article on Patrick Towles
I posted this in Hot topics by accident or I thought I did. I think it belongs here though. Nice video of Partrick and his grandfather Jim Bunning from Rivals.

Has the "drive for five" become the most lackluster season in Bluebird history?
He's the Highlands version of Simon Kentons UK#1fan. My appologies to UK#1fan

Elder loses at " the pit " again. (Highlands/Elder Predictions)
Dale's pumped for every game.

Elder loses at " the pit " again. (Highlands/Elder Predictions)
I think this is key. What will the mind set of Elder be? Does the Highlands game not matter since they will not be in the playoffs and have defeatest attitude? Do they relax and throw everything at Highlands and have the game of their lives?

The State of Football in Kentucky
To start , I completely disagree with the highlighted statement . You talk about the usually tradition rich schools that can keep kids interested. However, I look at schools like Louisville Central, Whitely, Lex . Cath. , Johnson Central, Rock Castle, Ryle. these are some new names. They seem to be getting kids out for football and growing. Old names to me are Belfry, Ashland, Male,Newport. Also, what you are saying is parents need to get a clue. Get your act together for your kids because you are totally screwing them up.

Can Brady Hightchew be mentioned as a top 5 candidate for Mr. Football?
Are you still holding hope?

Johnson Central's Coach Matney
What if Matney put all his effort into developing a TEAM rather than concentrating on the stats of one player. Oh what a wonderful world it would be at Johnson Central.

Big congrats to Coach Lickert and the Camels. Campbell County has a good coach and players that believe and hopefully a community that will support them.

Lack of Sportsmanship - Or Mental Toughness?
Don't get the taking a knee thing, yet again I don't think they should line up and shake hands after the game either. Would really like to know when that all started and why and who decided. Heck, when we grew up the winning team fans ran onto the field to congratulate the team and the little kids would ask their favorite player for his chin strap. Awwwww the good ole days.

Highlands 68 Harrison County 0
I will say one thing, I loved seeing the Harrison kids get off the bus in shirt and tie. Class if you ask me.:thumb: I remember the days when the Highlands kids wore a tie on game day. Loved it. Wish they would do it again. Heck, the best way to teach a boy how to tie a tie. Oldest boy did it , youngest didn't. The youngest still doesn't know how to tie a tie nor does he care to. :idunno: His day will come.

What causes a team to be very good from 7-9th grade but average or below on Friday
It starts in the little league. It's about getting them to love football , keeping them interested and at the same time teaching them the fundimentals. The studs in the little league don't necessarily translate into the studs at the HS varsity level. However, you want to keep all interested. The stud QB in the little league may end up to be the Stud Corner on the HS level. If you develop the love of football and don't burn them out , they will do what it takes to be a part of the team. If you have a kid in little league that thinks he is the next Brett Farve on the HS level and that is all he will do, well then you lose alot. That kid could very well have been the athlete you needed at a different position. It starts early about being a team. There are many little league teams that go out and just want to win and will only play the chosen few to do that. Later only to find out that little Johnny sitting on the bench for the last 4 years grows into the stud they wished they had at the varsity level. Only problem is, the coach in little league didn't let him play so Little Johnny stud lost interest. Happens alot.

Highlands 42 Covington Catholic 37
Funny how you find the need to post in a Highlands/Cov. Cath. thread about a game that happened this past weekend rather than post in a thread about your team that will be facing the biggest game of the their season thus far against Boyle this Friday.:idunno:
