Didn't look like the Birds were working on anything offensively.....Just simply heaving it and hoping a Bird comes down with it. Seemed like another "goin' through the motions" game. Defense looked "soft" at times.....hard to stay focused I suppose with a running clock in the 1st half. Could this be the year that the Bluebird offense carries the team to state?

Were you expecting something different? They used this game to get some players healed.

Really not much of a game to watch. Just sad that Harrison and Pendleton are on the schedule as they are no match whatsover. Little disppointed to see the 1's come out for the first two series of defense and the first series of offense. It was already 48 to 0 and the clock was running. Just seems like there are still some kids that do not get on the field even in these blowout games. Next week they might want to dress the frosh, but that probably will not happen because they are in the midst of a potential title run.

I know it sounds weird, but I almost feel sorry for the senior's at HHS. Their last year and they only get to play the 1st half in most games.

I don"t think these type of games help a team improve. I'm not getting on Highlands---they have to play who is on their schedule. Perhaps need to tweak the schedule.

What's the latest on Bowden? Is he out?

I will say one thing, I loved seeing the Harrison kids get off the bus in shirt and tie. Class if you ask me.:thumb:

 

I remember the days when the Highlands kids wore a tie on game day. Loved it. Wish they would do it again. Heck, the best way to teach a boy how to tie a tie. Oldest boy did it , youngest didn't. The youngest still doesn't know how to tie a tie nor does he care to. :idunno:

I agree; they should be commended for that. Wish we still had that tradition....and a couple of others.

First play from scrimmage for Birds and Towles goes to Collinsworth for an 80 yard strike and score. He had 5 td tosses in the 1st qtr. The problem I see is the Birds have 2 cupcakes in a row the Holmes before they travel to the Pit. Not much of a test to prepare them.
