Fourth and one on the one at home. All I will say.

Must have been one heck of a game I am sure they will meet again.

No moral victory for the Colonels, I don't believe in them. The missed opportunities came back to haunt them. The boys in blue need to keep their heads up and focus on setting up a rematch.

 

On the game, it sounds like the CCH oline is pretty solid. The Offense played well, but the Defense needed a few more stops.

Where is VOR to talk about the last 45 seconds of the game? I am very intrigued.

Wow... congrats to HHS on the big win!!!!

I don't think I'll see a better game this year than that one.

 

Few thoughts:

 

Neither D is very good against a strong offense.

 

CCH O-line dominated.

 

Towles killed CCH with his feet vs the passing game.

 

The key was CCH having first and goal at the 2 down 7 and only getting a FG.

 

Bir played a great game with some beautiful touch passes. He just overthrew Mader on the last play.

 

With Elliott out we now know who the best back in NKY is.

 

Fun day.

Sounds like a classic. I think undoubtedly these rivals will see each other again in a month and a half.

This is quibbling, but why didn't CCH use their last two TO's. HHS takes over on downs around the 17 yard line with :45 to go and CCH let's them kneel it out. If CCH uses the TO's, it goes like this.

 

1st down - HHS kneels; TO CCH; :43 to go.

2nd down - HHS kneels; TO CCH; :41 to go.

3rd down - HHS kneels; :25 second play clock; TO HHS with :16 to go.

4th down - Highlands punts?

 

If CCH gets the ball back they have the chance for bad snap on punt, block the punt, return the punt, one or two plays on offense for Hail Mary's. Of course, Highlands may have stopped kneeling and run offense. If they do, the chance to fumble comes into play. I know it is all very remote that CCH could have made a play at that point but I will take some chance over giving up.

Fabulous game. Birds excape with victory despite two huge fumbles that lead to only 3 points by CCH. Penatlies were few, but they were critical. Both offenses wore down the D's. Final defensive stand by the Birds and PT's legs were the difference.
