For the most part yes, but when CCH had 1st and goal at the one after the fumble recovery, the Highlands D line rose to the occcasion and handled the CCH O-Line and kept them out of the endzone.

You're telling me you could see who had the ball after the pile-up? It doesn't matter who falls on it first. It was no different than the fumble on the HHS sidelines that CCH appeared to jump on but HHS came out of the pile with it.

Blue boys have come a long way from a few years ago. Dave Wirth is a fine coach and the Colonel faithful should be happy he's on the sidelines.

The D was horrible I agree.. I am just saying I didn't get the call by the ref..

I was in that end zone as well the CovCath kid had it against his shoulder pad laying flat on the ground and the Bird player took it from him. I'm guessing they saw that and called the play dead. Those scrums are tough calls but the stripes seemed confident in their call.

 

My question is on the final drive Bir tapped the RB and moved him over and they snapped the ball before he got set. Shouldn't that be illegal procedure?

Not if he was the only player in motion and as long as he wasn't going forward at the snap.

The Birds will need to tighten up their D in the rematch and cut the mental mistakes.

 

How many times will you see PT fumble a ball the way he did near his own end zone? Seriously, the Birds answered every call today when faced with adversity. The goal line stand was huge and Murray knocking down that 3rd down pass near the sticks was huge.

 

I expect Weinrich to get that fixed. I hope Chad Bowden is okay. He walked off the field but I did see a life squad head toward the field. You take Bowden and Rouse out of the D and it's big.

Highlands Defense has been exposed. CCH did whatever they wanted today. They beat themselves by going for 3 instead of 7 and missing a late fieldgoal. Either of those points would've been plenty for the Colonels to nail a FG at the end of regulation. Highlands walked out of there today with their feathers between their legs. For a two platoon system, our Birds D looked awful tired.......Not looking forward to this rematch. ouch I mean when was the last time a team pasted Highlands with 37points?
