  1. [QUOTE=Log Mountain Boy]I think Proffit put too much on himself to try to do too much and it hurt his team. Plus Holmes was a very athletic bunch. Proffit won't be a pointguard at the next level, which will help him a lot I believe. Hes a good ball player and his high school career speaks for itself. Couldn't agree anymore there. And Profitt is a good ball player, don't get me wrong...I just don't think he's as good as advertised.
  2. Moving in to the Covington area with their mom from Cincinnati.
  3. Agreed. Profitt is a good ball handler. He just seemed selfish at times and took off balance shots because he was getting frustrated that everywhere he went Henderson was right in his hip. But Profitt will see much better defenders at the next level than Henderson which is why I feel he's overrated. Against athletic defenders, he struggles.
  4. That is correct. It's not a for sure thing yet though. I think they are cousins or former stand out Greg Rice. IF they do transfer, both will make an impact and make Holmes one of the heavy favorites, joining Henderson, Nelson, Avery , and Clark.
  5. Very big honor for the school and both young men. It kind of just goes to show just how underrated both were. Hill and Rice will both make an impact in the KY-IN game. I can't wait to see them play with the likes of Walls and Pettigrew. I think we may see a couple Walls to Rice alley oops in the game.
  6. Profitt is a nice player, just not as good as he is hyped to be. Definetly not better than some of the players he was chosen over who proved themselves against tougher competition.
  7. So far the top teams have been Ryle, Conner, and surprisingly Newcath.
  8. They also put on another tournament in 2 weeks I believe.
  9. Amanda Jump is another VERY good pitcher as well. I think NKY might have 2 of the state's top 10 pitchers, Allen obviously being #1 and Jump probably in the 5-10 range.
  10. Kirsten Allen will break Abner's record this year without a doubt. She is just a phenomenal pitcher. Oh BTW, she's only a junior and she has already tied Becky Abner's record. Kirsten Allen will be the best fastpitch pitcher to ever come out of KY. The records she is going to set not only this year, but also NEXT YEAR as a senior, won't be touched.
  11. Size maybe. Lack of players who can generate offense off the dribble? I'm not so sure about.
  12. Ryle will bounce back. Playing tough competition and taking a couple on the chin during the regular season will make them better and help them come tourney time.
  13. Rice missed I think 4 or 5 games for violating a team rule.
  14. Wow...kind of surprised to see a Brohm go to rival St. X. I'm sure he'll look good in green though...yellow and green that is.
  15. Kind of surprised by this score
  16. I agree. A lot of good NKY players got passed up. But it's alright. Holmes was the only school to have 2 players selected to play on the KY All Star team in Rice and Hill, so it just proves how blind the people who chose the honorable mention and 1st and 2nd team really are.
  17. Can always count on EastBank to back me up. :thumb: :thumb:
  18. Scott has really proved themselves this week. Congrats men.
  19. Congrats Birds!! Very impressive win your program.
  20. Playing until 1 in the morning then getting back up the next morning to play a noon game is pretty rough. On a positive note though, it sounds like CCH bats were alive in this game.
  21. Nice win for Clark Co...sounds like it was a good game.
  22. I was told Benton wouldn't be playing because of an incident, but you could be right. I kind of raised my eye brow when I heard Whatley was playing as well.
  23. Not too familiar with Male that year, but I know Highlands was absolutley loaded and destroyed Holmes 81-0 that year who had Brandent Englemon (Michigan), James Jackson (Louisville), and several other small D1 recruits. Gino was just a man among boys along with Smith, Hamblen, and Glover. That Highlands team was very impressive and I think the least amount of points they scored that year (vs Ky competition) was 35 on CCH.
