Clark Co. wins 2-1 in a very well played game. Both pitchers threw great games, and each teams' defense made great plays to keep it a tight game to the end.

 

This was the final game played in the Ernie Evans Tourney. One game of the Winchester tourney was played on Friday night and the rest on Saturday. Clark Co. extends it's 2007 season record to 19-1.

Yes it was an excellent game. Campbell took a 1-0 lead on a Danny Jenkins home run and the lead held up until Josh Wood homered for Clark with one out in the bottom of the sixth. Brandon Mitchell then hit a two out single down the left field line to score Clark's second run in the sixth. Tim Duvall and Travis Hurd each threw excellent games with Clark having six hits and the Camels having four.

The Camels had defeated Hazard earlier in the day 7-3 and Clark had manhandled Anderson Co. 15-4 in five innings.

The George Rogers Clark High School baseball team paid tribute to one of its late assistant coaches over the weekend with a pair of wins in the Ernie Evans Memorial on Saturday at Cardinal Field.

 

The Cards (19-1) opened play with a 15-3 win in five innings over Anderson County and followed with a 2-1 triumph over Campbell County in the second game of a doubleheader.
