  9. Good Job Cards, way to find a way to win the game!!!! Congratulations on a nice season to a very gutsy Scott High team.
  10. The Cards have the upmost respect for everyone in the tourney, and won't overlook the Eagles. The Eagles have a nice team and will come to play.
  11. Clark Co. wins 13-3 in 5 innings, and takes care of business in their first game. Short stop Evan Bennett hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the 5th inning to plate two runs and give the final margin of victory. Timmy Duvall went the distance on the mound for Clark. Clark Co. runs its 2007 season record to 30-4.
  12. Clark Co. defeated Mont. Co. 6-1, to claim the 40th district regular season and tournament crowns. Clark secures the district winner seed for the 10th region tournament that starts on Monday. Clark Co. runs their 2007 season record to 29-4. Congratulations to Montgomery and Clark and good luck to both in the 10th region tournament that will be played at Montgomery Co.
  13. Congrats to Montgomery Co. on the win. I have seen them play several times, and they have gotten better all year. The progress they have made as a team was most evident last night by defeating a very good Bourbon Co. team.
  14. Clark Co. wins 10-0 vs Paris in the first game of the 40th district tourney tonight at Montgomery Co. Championship game will be play on Wed. at Montgomery Co.
  15. Rowan Co. came into tonights' contest owning the best record in the 16th region, and are now 26-8. It was senior night for the Cards, and a good crowd was on hand to see the contest. Congrats to Rowan Co. on the win. I am sure Clark Co. will come out focused for the start of district play on Monday at Montgomery Co. Clark takes a 27-4 2007 into next week. Good Luck Cards!!!
  16. Clark Co. Cards traveled west to take on the Bryan Station Defenders. The Cards win 3-2 in a pitchers dual, and a game where both teams played good defense. Clark Co. 2007 record is now 27-3.
  17. The schedule of any team is always a source for debate, just like on selection Sunday for the NCAA basketball March Tourney. I guess it makes for good fan discussions. Here are my thoughts: Besides the tough Florida schedule, and the away game played at always strong Harrison Co., the last two weeks schedule for Clark included; Bourbon Co. 17-10 (2006 region runnerup and 4th in 10th region) Henry Clay 19-10 (ranked 8th in Ky. - 11th region) Garrard Co. 12-14 (8th in 12th region) Bishop Brossart 20-12 (3rd in 10th region) Johnson Central 19-11(3rd in 15th region) Madison So. 11-16 (member of the tough 11th region) Powell Co. 21-8,(#1 in 14th region) Bryan Station 11-14 (alway tough Lex. School-11th region) Rowan Co. 25-8 (#1 in 16th region) I would say a pretty strong overall last two weeks schedule, 6 of the 9 teams have won 17 or more games. Clark has played the other current top 4 teams in the 10th region at least once, and everyone in the 40th district twice, with a 11-1 record in the 10th region.
  18. Clark Co. gets the win 9-0 over Powell Co. tonight at Cardinal Stadium. Clark Co. runs their 2007 season record 26-3.
  19. Clark Co. traveled to Berea to face Madison Southern. Clark Co. wins 9-1 and runs it's 2007 season record to 25-3.
  20. I agree Fyffe is a good player, and will be a nice addition to the EKU staff. I am impressed with the Johnson Central team, they hustle, play hard and are a quality baseball team. The 57th district tourney will have some dandy games.
  21. Who was the Bourbon starter? Any word on his condition? Hope he is ok.
  22. The pitchers for today's games were Cody Christopher for Clark and Matt Fyffe for Johnson Central, and both went the distance. It was a well played game by both teams with Clark winning a close one 3-2. All the games this weekend at the Swartz Classic were close and the fans were treated with excellent players on the field along with excellent coaching. Some great weather to go along with the fine baseball played at Cardinal Stadium in Winchester.
  23. Yes it was a beautiful day for baseball at Cardinal Stadium in Winchester. Brossart and Clark players competed very hard, and both were well coached. The teams represent the 10th region with class and it should be an interesting 10th region tourney. Good job Mustangs and Cardinals.
  24. Clark Co. played against Garrard Co. in the first game of the Swartz Invitational Tournament in Winchester. Clark Co. won the contest 6-2 with Jeremy Greene going the distance. Clark Co. has a 2007 season record of 23-2.
  25. Bourbon Co. has done a tremendous amount on work at their facilities. It was very nice now, and will be a showcase for baseball games when the bleachers and other items are completed. Good job Bourbon Coaches, Players, Fans and Supporters!!:thumb: :thumb:
