gold sunrise Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Clark Co. defeated Mont. Co. 6-1, the Cards are the 40th district champions!!!! Proud of you Cards :thumb: Jeremy (Lefty) Greene started on the mound for Clark Co. and went the distance, with Jordan Barker as catcher. Clark Co was home team due to owning the best district record in the regular season. Clark grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning, and took care of business tonight to secure the district winner seed for the 10th region tournament. Lead off hitter, John Turner went 3-4 at the plate. Josh Wood hit a two run shot over left field fence in the 4th inning, to make it a 6-1 game, and this was the final margin of victory. The defense for Clark was stellar, with several good plays made on the night. This was the 4th meeting for the Cards and the Indians this year, with Clark claiming the victory along with the regular season crown, and tournament champs. Montgomery Co. is a dangerous team that is playing well. They will be a tough out in the region tourney, especially since the region is played at their home field. Should be a great and exciting 10th region.
