Clark Co. squared off tonight in Winchester against the top team in the 14th

region, Powell Co. Senior Jeremy (Lefty) Greene pitched 6 shut out innings,

and eight grader Anthony Withrow finished the 7th. Jordan Barker turned in

another fine job behind the plate.

Clark Co. lead off hitter John Michael Turner started the first inning with

a home run, and Clark stayed in control to notch another win. Clark is 26-3

on the season, and Powell Co. is 21-8.

Clark Co. travels to Lexington to face Bryan Station on Thursday. The Cards

are back home Friday evening to face the top team in the 16th region, Rowan

Co., 25-8, for Senior night at 5pm.

Great win Cards.:thumb:

Actually they've played about the same schedule as last year. The spring break tournament was actually tougher this year going down to Panama City. Also they played Henry Clay and will play Bryan Station tomorrow. They didn't play any Lexington teams last year.

Haven't the Cardinals played a weaker than normal schedule?

The schedule of any team is always a source for debate, just like on selection Sunday for the NCAA basketball March Tourney. I guess it makes for good fan discussions.

Here are my thoughts:

Besides the tough Florida schedule, and the away game played at always strong Harrison Co., the last two weeks schedule for Clark included;

Bourbon Co. 17-10 (2006 region runnerup and 4th in 10th region)

Henry Clay 19-10 (ranked 8th in Ky. - 11th region)

Garrard Co. 12-14 (8th in 12th region)

Bishop Brossart 20-12 (3rd in 10th region)

Johnson Central 19-11(3rd in 15th region)

Madison So. 11-16 (member of the tough 11th region)

Powell Co. 21-8,(#1 in 14th region)

Bryan Station 11-14 (alway tough Lex. School-11th region)

Rowan Co. 25-8 (#1 in 16th region)

I would say a pretty strong overall last two weeks schedule, 6 of the 9 teams have won 17 or more games.

Clark has played the other current top 4 teams in the 10th region at least once, and everyone in the 40th district twice, with a 11-1 record in the 10th region.

I was just going on what one of the family members had told me that they they thought the competition was down a bit. I would say that they do finish with a very strong schedule. IMO Harrison County's schedule is also down a bit this year.

GRC is very solid. they make very few mistakes and are always well coached. Regardless of schedule they are most certainly a top 25 team.

:thumb: They are very soild. The way some of them wear their clothes just looks disrespectful to baseball. IMO.

The boy I assume u are talking about has lost 25 pounds since the season has started & the pants are more baggy than falling down. Sideways hats (probably more of a tilt to the side).. doesn't really matter to me as long as their attitudes are respectful. Many baseball players old & new have worn their hats a bit to the side

Babe Ruth wore his hat sideways... did anybody have a problem with that? Try to encourage the team and not put them down.(I guess that's the only thing you can get since the guy your probably talking about is 7-0.)
