  1. The Warrior is one of my favorite bats, our high school team owns 2 of them. I also like the Air Response bats.
  2. This move by SHS just really doesn't make sense to me. I mean, sure, they went 9-19 this year but their 2 best players, who were the heart of that team, were out all year with ACL injuries. How could the administraiton blame him for a season plagued with injuries? Brown proved that he can coach when he has the talent... 22-8 last season. As a Somerset grad, I had the privelege of having Coach Brown as a teacher and I know from experience that he is a class act both as a teacher, coach, and role model. SHS has made a huge mistake and they are losing a great leader. I wish Coach Brown the best of luck in the future.
  3. Can't seem to find a full printout, but Somerset has a pretty tough Schedule this year. We play Beechwood, Trinity, Male, and Owensboro Catholic. And if im not mistaken Dunbar twice
  4. I remember in 2003 when Somerset hosted the Regional Baseball Tournament, Cole Draughn from Pulaski County hit a double down the line. After the next batter picked up the bat, you could clearly see that the bat had literally shattered and was broken open. This bat was also a GEN 1 X.
  5. I had the opportunity to watch this game. Number 30 for Boyle, Carter, is a player. I believe that he had 17 in the first half. The Rebels did a good job keying on Colby Brown and not letting him have alot of touches. He only had 10 point in the contest which im sure is 20 off of his seasonal average. I belive that Boyle should be the favorite to win the 12th, but McCreary must not be overlooked.
  6. The Watts kid is unbelievable he is only in the 8th grade and is the leading scorer for the Raiders. Josh Bartley is also very good. I believe that if McCreary can do the little things like hit free throws that they could made a run at the 12th region title.
  7. Are these projected rankings for the entire state? Or just a certain Region
  8. At Somerset we lost a talented group of 7 seniors which includes a member of the 1,000 point club in Ray Ray Norman. We also are losing a dominant inside player in Nathan Holton, Defensive specialists Chip Clay, and Eric Wilson as well as AJ Sharp, Jeff Ybanez and Andy Cole who tore his ACL in the second game of the season. We will have to do alot of rebuilding this offseason but we are returing quite a bit and we should be one of the top teams in the 12th next year.
  9. This will be the third time that these teams have met this season. Its hard to beat the same team 3 times in the same year, the game is being played at Casey County. What are everyones thoughts and predictions on this district tournament game. I'm going with Somerset by 10 SHS-65 ROCK-55
  10. Jeremy Toohey from Somerset has a lethal bat and a great arm for a young kid. Played quite a bit last year on the JV team that only lost one game.
  11. Field Of Dreams hands down
  12. He's a nice player. Seen him on film, but when NCC played Somerset i believe that he had a leg injury. Outstanding player when i watched game films. He seemed to be in on every play in some way.
  13. This could be a very stupid question, but im not really familiar with wrestling. Is there wrestling in the 12th region? I know that somerset and the surrounding schools dont have one but i was interested in finding this out. Or are there not 12 regions in wrestling? If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appritiated
  14. 1st Region- Marshall County 2nd Region- University Heights 3rd Region- Owensborrow Catholic 4th Region- Warren Central 5th Region- E-Town 6th Region- PRP 7th Region- Ballard 8th Region- Shelby County 9th Region- Holmes 10th Region- Pendelton County 11th Region- Scott County 12th Region- Somerset 13th Region- South Laurel 14th Region- Leslie County 15th Region- Johnson County Central 16th Region- Morgan County TB- 11th Region
  15. Why go to UK and wait, when you could go to Eastern or even Western and produce in your first year? I wish him luck in whatever he does in college.
  16. Spencer Perrin from Danville can leap, he is pretty tall but factor that in with his Vertical leap..and that kid can pull of some sick dunks..
  17. Somerset's Ray Ray Norman scored his 1,000th point in the third quarter of the game last night against Wayne County. Nathan Holton should be pretty close to this milestone also.
  18. I will predict a 6-4 Mark and a birth in the playoffs
  19. Yes, i dont recall anyone else being in any serious foul trouble.
  20. Good physical game between two cross town rivals. John and Ty Perkins both fouled out of the game. Ty fouled out with about 2 minutes left in regulation and John Fouled out early into the overtime period. Corey Price led the Jumpers with 16 points while Ben Meeks had 19 for the Maroons. Looking foward to a possible district championship showdown at Casey Co.
  21. When could we expect to see this possibly put into effect? Is there a definate time table on when this could happen?
  22. I'm going with Somerset by 5 in the Championship game vs. Pulaski
  23. Thanks for the info :thumb: It is greatly appritiated, hopefully we can come away with a win tomorrow in Mcbriar Arena!!
  24. As far as defense goes, do they like to run man or zone? Is their offensive style similar to that of Southwesterns? They seem to spread the floor alot and live by the three ball.
  25. I dont think shs will be as tough.......they dont have any talent like a scottie newell ray norman or matt salmons any more.
