statmanhensley Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Final. Boyle County just controlled the second half. I didn't get to listen much of the second half because George Washington University and Pops Mensa-Bonsu are here in Regents Hall. Man these guys are HUGE!!! Sad day for these seniors for Rockcastle County. This is the first time in five years that the Rockets have not played in the regional finals.
SLINK Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Boyle-McCreary Central should be a good one on Friday. Was hoping the Rock would pull this one out.
Jim Schue Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 So tell me, those of you who are seeing Boyle for the first time: Do you agree with me that they are the clear favorite?
Cotton Nash Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Shue....I have to go with the Warriors as the clear favorite right now, the finals could be a good one!
hector Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Boyle Co. is better than I thought they were. And are a very good team but they are most definitely beatable. If it becomes a freethrow shooting contest McCreary Central will beat them.
shs2005 Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I had the opportunity to watch this game. Number 30 for Boyle, Carter, is a player. I believe that he had 17 in the first half. The Rebels did a good job keying on Colby Brown and not letting him have alot of touches. He only had 10 point in the contest which im sure is 20 off of his seasonal average. I belive that Boyle should be the favorite to win the 12th, but McCreary must not be overlooked.
SLINK Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 If SW and Boyle meet in the finals, then it will be who can impose their style on the other one. I do not think either of these teams can stay in one defense against the other. They will have to mix it up all night.
hector Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Congratulations to Rockcastle on a good season. I thought the coaching staff did a good job throughout the year. They had a good game plan and did a good job on Boyles big kid. However for teams to survive and move on players must make plays, and last night Carter from Boyle made alot of plays.

I do not think either of these teams can stay in one defense against the other. They will have to mix it up all night. First off SW must beat a very good East Team and Boyle must beat a peaking at the right time McCreary Central team. But as you posted If[these two teams meet up in the finals there will be several keys. 1) if it is a low possession game it will favor Boyle, an uptempo game will favor SW. 2) I think a factor could be how much effort each team expends in Friday nights game. The 3rd key would be the play of the support cast. If daugherty strokes the three and TW sears steps up and Kyle Rodgers plays well the warriors can be tough to handle.

Both team sare going to have hard games on Friday. These two are the favorites. But the game is won on the court.:thumb:
