In a recent game aganist Russell County, The Briar Jumpers starting point guard, Andy Cole landed akwardly and tore his acl. How will this affect the Jumpers on their quest for the 12th region title? Andy is also the starting Left Fielder on the Jumpers baseball team.

At Somerset we return, Ross Deaton, John Cole, Kenny Hughes, Cam Jones, and 4 or 5 starters from the o-line d-line standpoint. Should be a good year at the Briar Patch assuming that everyone stays healthy and get the work done in the weightroom!

Yes, John Cole of Somerset is only going to be a junior nexy year this kid has the quickness and speed to play D-1 I think it will be The Deaton and Col Show next year at Somerset

The Newells in Somerset have had a great legacy that has been passed down throught the whole family. Some of those players are; Archie Newell, Chris Newell, Brandon Newell, Scotty Newell(All three of these players have some sort of record that they hold at Somerset High School)

Southwestern had a pretty tough non-district schedule, haveing to play Corbin, Danville, GRC, South Laurel, and Highlands. Not to mention Boyle County in their district schedule.

For somerset it had to be the 41-40 thriller over Lynn Camp at the Patch. This win pretty much locked up the district championship for the Jumpers.

Dozer, i think what Jumperfootball is trying to say is that NCC has the right to be arrogant because they have a great program which has had success for as long as i can remember. Good luck to the Breds next week and congrats to the Briar Jumpers on another great year.

The field conditions werent bad with the exeption of there not being a blade of grass on the entire field. I think i can recall the right corner of the endzone being on the track which just amazes me. I cant understand why they didnt play the state semifinal game on a better field. Congradulations to NCC and good luck next week.

Somersets JV team went 9-0 this year.. posting two wins over clay, one over rock, and vs a very good southwestern JV team.. look for somerset to contend for the region each of the next 3 years

I love it when a team just overlooks someone thinking they are that much better than they are and are going to just roll over them, guess what it's the state semis everyone is good at this stage in the game no easy wins, and by seeing how Beechwood and Covington Cath played the"Breds" I think they better take it one game at a time. Somerset will give them a dog fight and hopefully will be playing on the carpet!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is Deaton going to play basketball?

I spoke with Coach Cobb on Monday and he said he beleives his team will be ready to play he said they have been preparing themselves really well these last few weeks and are talking really well in practice hopefully this will carry onto the field Friday night!
