Unfortunately for you, I go by the law of competition. If the Indianapolis Colts go undefeated, but lose in the Super Bowl to say, the Chicago Bears, who has the better season. The Bears do, because all year long, they did what was neccesary to win the final game of the year. Its silly to even argue this. How you judge a season is how you end the season. Its a shame, because not all X fans have acted this way. The season is the tool to prepare you for the post season. Every coach will tell you this, in any sport. You do not base success on the season, but what you do at the end.

You know Im only having a little fun ox, you're most definately one of the classy X fans on here by far.

Trinity or X in 4A Boyle or Highlands in 3A not sure about 1 or 2A

I agree with that, however, if they played one game that counted, I think X and T would both beat them

I dont think Lex Cath could do it personally, I do feel they are the class of Lexington, but I feel Trinity has a very good secondary and X has the ball control angle.

Based on what a few of the X fans think, I'd say St. X has the best shot of repeating in 06

Ok, lets go over the basics of football. There is ONE champion in ever league if you will. 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, Division 1,2,3 in college. NFL has the superbowl..so on and so forth. Does the runner up get the billing as the better team in any of them? NO. Follow along carefully, I know this is hard for some of you to digest. The team, that has the best season out of any other team, is the one who WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP. Ok, with that said, did St.X win the state championship in 2005? No, they did not..the team that had the best season overall won the championship and always does. That was the Trinity Shamrocks...case closed

The team that has the best overall season, is the team to win the championship...how could there be any reasoning but that. There cant...how can you say your season was better, when you didn't win it all? I dont get it.

I agree Lex Cath would give T and X a game, but I feel X's ball control and Trinity's potent pass defense would prevail. One thing people did not do this year, was throw the ball against Trinity.

I dont understand how anyone could place St.X in front of Trinity. Its rather ridiculous. There was no doubt left in the championship game. The argument for 2nd is between St.X and Lex Cath, but make no mistakes about it...Trinity is the BEST team in the state this year.

1. Trinity 2. St.Xavier 3. Henry Clay 4. Fern Creek 5. Warren Central There are those who are saying that X is still a better team. I strongly disagree, and this is why. As as team, you are only as good as the last game you played. You improve on a game by game basis. You make adjustments as each game comes, and correct mistakes to make your team the best it can be for the playoffs. Im not saying at all that St. X wasn't improving, I just think the Rocks improved at a greater pace than St. X did this year. The BEST team every year is the team that plays thier best game last. And Trinity played that game against X.

How about winning state and opening a new stadium in the same year? I think its awesome!

We'll probably just fire up the good ole cloning lab again. Create a few speedsters, a few power runners, and a Brohm or something. :jump: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

St.X had a great season, you cant argue against that. Glaser is a great coach. The team went udefeated until the championship. That is no easy task, who ever is on your schedule. Trinity outplayed X at state. Thats no reason to start a thread about a coaching change...at EITHER school. We're two very lucky schools because we have the two best coaching staffs in the state, possibly the best out of a LOT of states.

Didn't coach Glaser get on the radio after the first game, and state to all 8 graders who wanted to play football, to come to X? Did he have a similar message after this game?

What a shame that this player did what he did. He should have been flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct. Water under the bridge as far as that goes, but it serioulsy gives all of the other fine young men that left it on the field for X, a bad name. St. X is a class act program, but individuals like this young man, can ruin it for everyone. Such a shame :mad:

Is it me, or did the Trinity family become much much closer with this championship?

ya know, in all the celebration, a bit of sadness has come over me...the football season is over...I truly hate that. August seems so far away

Official attendance was 21,242 I believe. My hats of to coach Bean and the boys on D....that was old school Trinity D. That goal line stand was amazing. I am so proud to be a Rock right now. 4 titles in 5 years. What an amazing night of football.

Wayne Kraus, Jason Larch and John King do an excellent job for Trinity games. They have a pretty darn good stat guy as well... :thumb: The ONLY team in KY to do live internet broadcasts AND stats

The reason Trinity only outgained Boone by 80 yards is simple, Trinity's defense gave the O a short field ALL NIGHT LONG. Boone is a great program with a class act coaching staff, however, Friday night was NO contest at all.
