Why do people think Petrino can't play qb at trinity next year?

I keep reading all this stuff that people are saying about Nick Petrino and saying they don't think he will be able to get the job done and im just wondering why you people think this?

In many offenses, with good athletic ability, he could thrive, possibly even excel. In Trinity's offense, this would be more difficult for a shorter QB to excel.

He doesn't have a very accurate arm, to go along with other problems with being QB at trinity.

I think the Rock-heads are making a big mistake not playing Stein at QB unless their secondary desperately needs his services.

I think the Rock faithful will have more accurate info on this question. I personally have been impressed with how savvy Nick is in the pocket and he has very good arm strength for his size. That being said, Eric Senn is a super athlete who can do many things that keep a defense honest with his speed, passing ability and composure. Tough call for Coach Beatty, but also a luxury to have 2 qualified candidates and a 3rd option in Grant Conliffe!!!

Does anyone think Beatty will use Senn like Glaser used Mike Russell in 2001? Russell was supposed to play RB, but was moved to QB for many of the same characteristics that Senn shows on the playing field.

Beatty could have a shootout during spring ball and two-a-days between Petrino and Conliffe and may the best man win. Surely Beatty wouldn't start Petrino just because of his last name.

I think Petrino is a very good athlete & QB..I worry about his height a little...but I am sure he can & will do a good job.....remember this isn't the first time a Trinity player has been questioned about his size and being able to get the job done :sssh: :sssh:

DeSensi (I never know if I spell that right) was only 5'9 but he was in a completely different type of offense. Yes he lead the Rocks to 2 undefeated seasons and state titles, but Nick's situation is a little different.
