Why do people think Petrino can't play qb at trinity next year?

Featured Replies

Surely Beatty wouldn't start Petrino just because of his last name.

If you know Beatty you know this won't be the case :thumb:

DeSensi (I never know if I spell that right) was only 5'9 but he was in a completely different type of offense. Yes he lead the Rocks to 2 undefeated seasons and state titles, but Nick's situation is a little different.

Thank you.

Petrino's size is a big question mark. He could do very well. Then again, starting him at qb could be a mistake. We will find out in TN.

I guess that playing MBA at MBA ought to be a good test of his abilities.

All the player have all the trust in the world in Nick. Nick has showed what he is made of plenty of times: In the X JV game nick had about a 20-25 yard scramble where he broke about 13 tackles (no joke) is was all heart put into that one, and watching the Scott County JV game at the end of the year was also an honest look of the potential Nick has, if he could play like he did in the Scott JV game all the time he will be, and as a Rock fan, I think he will be fine...if all else fails just throw it up to Kirch!

WOW he's tiny, I could see why there is some worry.
Doug Flutie was too.....

He's not the prototype QB physically, but I wouldn't be suprised if he has a lot of success next year. Perhaps there is a more pressure on the line to create lanes to throw through that wouldn't be there if he was 6'4". But I don't see that as a deal-breaker, maybe some of the decision-makers do, but that all remains to be seen.

Eric Senn is a great team player, he will do well wherever they need him to do well next year, including QB if it shakes out that way.

True, but I am not willing to put Nick Petrino in the same boat as Flutie just yet.

Definately not.

Who will the Rocks scrimmage this year? Scott County again? Their scrimmages might be the tell-tale sign.

And we won't go into why that is now will we :sssh: :sssh:

Why did Stein leave the darkside?

You seem to be missing a word there, "Why did Stein leave for the darkside?"

Does 5'8'' a buck fifty five mean anything?

he's got great legs and will be VERY successful, just wait.

I think the Rock-heads are making a big mistake not playing Stein at QB unless their secondary desperately needs his services.

You mean SENN?
