Pendleton-Mason would probably bring out the biggest crowd and provide the best matchup on paper, but I think Brossart could rain on the party tommorrow night, especially if they get up early.....

While no one is going to mistake next year's Pendleton team for this year, I wouldn't totally discount them. The 38th is already relatively weak, and Harrison is losing some nice talent..... I'd call GRC the favorites in the 10th next year, followed by Mason......

It'll be a dandy in Frankfort, no doubt about that....

Nice comeback after a slow start for Catholic.... After observing Salsman the last four or five years, it's hard to find a coach who has his team more ready for March than he does..... I think Catholic will make the 11th region championship game....

I'm shocked it was this close.... Congrats to the Deming Devils. From listening to the game, Mason had trouble with the Massey boys, they gave it their best shot.... The Deming crowd was loud, and tonight they have something to be very proud of..... With that being said, Mason has to play better Friday night. If Brossart jumps out to a 5-10 point lead like they did today against Montgomery, it could be a long night.... Friday will be here before we know it, I look forward to my annual two days in Maysville.....

Listening to the game on 107.7 FM, it seemed as if Brossart was frustrating Ryals, Utterback, and Stevens (IMO Montgomery's three best players), with their trademark stiff defense. Brossart plays better team defense than Bourbon obviously, and every shot was contested. Ryals had to to duplicate the 17 point, 12 board, 5 steal effort he had against Bourbon last Tuesday, and he simply didn't come close.... Montgomery did play the 2-3 zone I predicted, but Brossart was making the open three point shots that the 2-3 allows. That is something that Bourbon did not do last Tuesday night....

Not surprised by the ugliness, surprised by the score.... Brossart will have a very good chance to knock off Mason IMO.....

Listened to the guys on 1150 AM, and it seemed they had a hard time getting into the game, especially at the end.... Anyone who thought this would be a cakewalk for GRC had to be kidding... The only problem I see in Knowles's game is he gets out of control at times. Tonight, especially at critical time, it sounded like did that. Had a key turnover late in the game..... Friday Night will be a dandy, hope to see some BGP'ers in the Fieldhouse....

Predicted 81-55, just a tad bit off..... Not surprise here, sets up the dandy at 5 Friday afternoon, It'll be hot, and I'll be there, look out....

Usually a higher scoring game benifits whoever has the best player on the floor, especially if that player is a guard. No disrespect to Kyle Howard, but I think Knowles is slightly better.....

I think Montgomery has the best chance out of the runners-up to win in the first round, but I dont see them scoring enough to pull it off... Brossart must keep the game in the 40's-50's, they defintely aren't going to win a game in the 60's with the Royals..... Analysis While GRC-Mason would be a dandy, I think most fans in the 10th who have a non-rooting interest want to see this final..... If you want to get to the Fieldhouse atleast an hour before GRC-Pendleton possible semi, you might want to get to the Fieldhouse two hours before this possible final.... Elliott vs. Turner matchup wins the game IMO..... Could be interesting to see how Belcher and Miller play each other. Both are very very similar IMO...... I dont see an advantage either way with total points, I could see both teams winning a low scoring or high scoring game..... If your looking for a clutch player, look no farther than Jon Elrod, I'd expect him to hit a few daggers..... If Mason Co. is hitting outside shots, it'll be hard for Pendleton to stop Turner, if they aren't hitting from deep, it could be a long night..... In what should be a dandy, I have to go with the most consistant team in the region throughout the year in Pendleton, but it should be close, and it should be packed..... First game of both sessions are mouth watering good....... GRC-Pendleton and Brossart-Mason possible semi's make for some really really really good basketball....

The 11th region will be a dandy... Scott Co. has to be the favorite, but I could see Bryan Station or Lex Cath putting up a strong challenge....

Ellliot, followed closely by Knowles.... Deciding factor was when Pat poured in 34, while sick, against Bourbon on Jan. 25 without Mains to win by 10.....

I'll buy the cokes...... :lol: GRC, Mason, Pendleton and Brossart/Scott possible semi combo's make this one of the most anticipated tournaments in a while IMO, three teams with a legit shot to win IMO....

Montgomery had to have this game in the 40's to have a chance, too much offense from GRC..... The new 40th district will be fun for years to come..... What was the crowd like tonight? I figured it'd be down with neither of the local teams making it to the finals.....

Congrats to the Wildcats, first step back to Rupp.... (Again, I'm still on the table for a hot dog and a coke at a tailgaiting party....) Also congrats to Deming on making their second trip to Maysville in three years....

I know some people in Paris that aren't too happy right now with how the new 40th district worked out.... :lol: In all honesty, I think the redistricting has went very well.....

My vote goes to Humphrey from GRC, followed by Buddy Biggs....

Considering that hardly anyone else gave Campbell a sniff in this one (in this thread...) and the fact that the game went to OT, there is no apology needed, Campbell fans have nothing to be ashamed of.... :thumb: Campbell played well, but Cov. Scott was better, and deserved the win, Congrats to the newcomers, look forward to seeing ya next week :thumb:

I dont have any offical stats, but I know he's been their most consistant threat for most of the year. If you leave him open, he's going to kill ya.... From what I have saw over the last year or so as well is he plays very hard on defense and on the boards. The work he puts in during a game is what makes him above average IMO.... I think expectations have been too high for Russell Allen since his Freshman year. He was never going to be region POY, but he was always going to be a solid contributer to a solid basketball team, and that was what he was, especially his last three years. Does he have more talent than he shows at times? Absolutely, but he's certaintly not the reincarnation of Rick Mahorn either....

I think it was mostly 2-3 matchup, and it worked, Borubon shot something like 20 percent for the game...... Montgomery will be a tough out for a team like Pendleton/Mason in regionals (if they lose Thursday Night)

Final from Paris... Disappointing end of the year for Bourbon, this team was expected to get to Maysville.... You hate to see good kids like Tyson Jones not make a final trip to Mason Co...... Both teams couldn't hit the ocean if they were standing two inches from it and I gave them five mulligans.... Both teams shot under 45 percent from the FT line.... Some would call this an "upset" but I really do not, I thought it would be close, and obviously if the game was played in the 30's and 40's, going to the Indians advantage... Cameron Ryals had 17 points, 12 boards, and 5 steals. I remember seeing him in a JV game two years ago hit seven threes in two and a half quarters, the kid if for real, and was the best player on the floor tonight by far.... Bart Rison is right at the top of the list when it comes to best coaches in the region. Fantastic job this season, and they'll be much better next year.... Dont see Bourbon getting back to Maysville next year with Montgomery and GRC bringing back so much of their team.... Dont be surprised to see this as a rematch in the first round of next years districts.....
