Scott did a nice job overall defensively tonight. While they did a good job cutting off a lot of Mike's dribbling penetrations, Mike went with what he they gave him he had a lot of nice assists. Mike had one play where it looked like he was going to lose the ball out of bounds, he saved the ball and whipped it underneath to Elbert for a uncontested layup that left the whole gym in awe!! Tonight the Eagles played one of their better games considering they had lost 7 or 8 in a row. They play like they did tonight and they probably don't lose the game they did to Campbell County. This is another game where the Pioneers led at half and simply did not finish..like Neerfan said there is fortunately still a tommorrow for the Pioneers . All I can say is nice job Scott and good luck the rest of the way!! :thumb:

Elberts game has been coming on strong the last 5 games or so. When Sk gets the inside game going they can go as far as they want. Hester and Elbert can win the 32nd district between them with average contributions from Schambach, Hurd and Hurtt. To threaten in the 8th regional they need to be clicking with at least 4 players if not all 5!!

First I want to make it clear that I am not a Boyd County fan. I just looked at their stats as of 2-06-06, Antonio has scored 630 pts. You do the math, I don't think they will get to even play 30 games, so no he probably won't make it. I do think that he has made for some wonderful conversations though. I am still amazed that this, his senior year, is his first year playing organized basketball.

Call me crazy but I think a team out of the 11th could make noise this year! LexCath, Lafayette, Bryan Station, Henry Clay, Madison Central and of course Scott County. The team that survives this region will be a worthy opponent!

I am not questioning Coach Steiner either!! I do think that the Pioneers needs to work on their free throws. They also need to come out of the locker room at half time with a lot more intensity and determinantion. Last but not least Hurd and Hurd need to start finishing better around the hoop . Hester Elbert and Schambach can only do so much they need the inside scoring to loosen up the perimeter. SK is playing a lot like Uk is right now if you think about it!

So.both of these games are the same night? Does anyone have times???These games are being played at Walton right??Is this draw the same for the girls as well?

I know I for one am starting to raise my eyebrows at this SK team. I maybe expected too much from them this year. This is basically the third year in a row this group has been together. They had a 9 win campaign last season and have already improved by 6 games this season. I know they beat Highlands last year in a close game. Highlands has dramatically improved this season. I don't think they have added any new players, and they are one of the favorites to win the 9th. Is it just me or does anyone else think the Pioneers are too erractic to expect a prolonged postseason this March?? I never know what t expect with this team , they beat Bryan Station , and played Henry Clay tough. They also lost to Dixie, in a game where they simply needed to finish. I also thought they should have prevailed in the Holy Cross game. I know they had Evan Stowers and Nate Edmonson in Hesters freshman year but to point out another game they beat Pendleton County the year before Elliot transferred in the Eagle Bank Classic at Grant County!! Your Thoughts??
