Is Fromeyer still the coach at Scott? They must be down, because he is a good coach. Hopefully this was just a really off night for Scott and they can settle in and play some good ball.

I thought the same exact thing. Traveled across the country, played a late night thriller against a top 10 team, flew back and had to play a 2-8 team before playing arguably your biggest rival. Definitely fits the "trap game" definition. One thing I don't like is when you have a bunch of older, experienced dudes trap games shouldn't really be a thing, in my opinion. No matter what, they got the win, and can move past that game and learn from some of the sloppiness.

Definitely a lot of size in that lineup and a lot of talent! Definitely expect to see Cooper in the same position they've been in the last two region tournaments with a chance to win the whole thing. Will be interesting to see how they handle a true, back to the basket big defensively. Good thing they have one of the best coaches in the area leading the charge.

What do you expect the starting 5 to be when the football players are back in full swing? Is there any size in the paint? I know Combs and Johnson are long and tall, but they both play guard/wing don't they?

By the end of the season, if not already, Andy Johnson will be the best player in the region. The kid can flat out play.

In the original post it was stated that the list of players was primarily 6A and athletes that the poster has watched.

I am assuming you meant 32 appearances and I absolutely agree. What Trinity has done, especially the last 15 years, is unmatched! They are the premier program in Kentucky and the train just rolls on!

Man. Ryle played so tough for 32 minutes but just couldn't sustain it. What an amazing season for the Raiders! They should be proud of what they have accomplished! Huge congrats to Trinity. I, along with many others, thought Ryle had a chance in this one but you proved why you are the best team in 6A! Kudos to you and enjoy another state championship.

Agreed. I can't remember many years the last 20 or so where a NKY big school team felt like a legit title contender. Trinity is the real deal, obviously, but there is something special brewing at Ryle this year! Can't let the moment be too big because Trinity will definitely not get caught in the "awe" of the moment.

What if this year.......Ryle is the beast? In all seriousness, I think Trinity is about 7-10 points better but Ryle definitely has what it takes to pull the "upset".

Going to be fun watching this one unfold. I'm excited to see how Bowling Green decides to defend Cooper's high powered offense but I'm also looking forward to seeing how Cooper's tall corners matchup to the speed of Bowling Green's receivers. Good luck to both teams and hopefully everyone stays healthy and both teams play a clean game!

I feel like Sphire is catching hate when he has done an admirable job to this point. Highlands was not very good before he got there and he had his team one play away from state and another semi final appearance that didn't end up so well, but he got them there. Highlands is back to being one of the top teams in the state and will probably be the #2-4 pre-season ranked team in 4A next year.

Saw the halftime score and thought Highlands was going to pull the "light upset". 34 points in the 3rd quarter is absolutely bananas! From double digit lead to running clocked in a quarter and a half is crazy! Cooper came out from halftime absolutely on fire ?

Like many others have stated, this is the year if Ryle is going to do it. Trinity is an AMAZING team, but they are not significantly more talented than Ryle. If Ryle can control their emotions and not have uncharacteristic mistakes or turnovers then they will have a shot!

This game is tough to pick. Everything points to Cooper as the favorite, and they have earned it. But Bowling Green has very talented athletes as well and have been victorious in both the previous meetings. That may give them the mental edge, who knows. They have more speed, where Cooper has the size at the skill positions and it's A LOT of size. I could definitely see this one come down to the lines. Who would you all say has the advantage in these matchups? BG OL/Cooper DL Cooper OL/BG DL I think if the game is clean whichever team wins both of these position battles will come out victorious. I plan on waiting a few days before making a prediction but definitely excited to watch this one.

Still a long way to go, but Highlands is definitely the aggressor at this point. Really impressed with their ability to run the football. Cooper will definitely make adjustments but, in my opinion, they have to get a stop here coming out of halftime and get some momentum back in their favor.
