Any news on this one? Seems like spring break has maybe calmed the turmoil a bit.

Pulaski should have more expectations coming into the season this coming year than last. Losing Blankenship will hurt them tremendously. That kid played his heart out every single night. However, a healthy Carson Fraley with Anderson, Cook, and Idlewine would warrant them to be in the top 5 in my opinion. I do agree on your top 3. I may put them in a different order, but that is the three. Should be an exciting offseason, and summer ball will be here soon!

If West didn’t land Steve Wright (which I still believe they did), do you think Ryan Young could potentially be the hire?

If that is true, I look for several current players to find a new team. Sad situation in Monticello. One man is ruining a great tradition.

I’m sure there will be several people inquire. But I believe the current girls head coach has been getting groomed for this spot for a few years, Austin Shearer.

I’m not sure how to answer this? Are you thinking he has no chance at this job or that he’s a shoe in? I am 100% asking a serious question. At the state tournament everyone talked as this was a done deal.

I would assume Coach Austin Shearer will be the first call.

The fact that one man has this much power, and doesn’t have to answer any questions about it is just not right. I hate it for Coach Woods, his players, and the entire Monticello community.

They bring back practically their entire team too. No one is safe anymore! Coach Woods has stuck out some mediocre years here recently to enjoy this group. A sad day in Monticello and across the 12th Region.

12th region sports posted to Twitter that “shocking news was possibly coming out of Wayne County.” Does that mean the Legendary Coach Rodney Woods is stepping down?

Heard rumblings at the state tournament that Maze was going to try to get back here.

Kudos to Trinity. They didn’t have their best stuff tonight, and seemed to be a little tight. The Maroons battled and never would go away. The zone by Pulaski was really good, but they just went too many stretches without scoring.

I agree. It’s a shame he has been hurt this season. Him pushing through just shows what kind of teammate he is. I truly believe he is the best player in the region when healthy.

Well I think majority of the regions across the state are played on a college sized floor. This gives you three games on a bigger floor before the state tournament. If Pulaski expands to that length, the coaches/AD’s of the 12th may agree to keep playing the tournament at Pulaski to get their teams exposed to that added size of floor. Maybe not though. As a fan, I enjoy the region tournament much more when it’s at Pulaski. The size of the facility just makes it more convenient.

As they did last year. They got the state champs in round one then!

I think the Massey prediction is fair. I look for the Maroons to stay within striking distance for a long time.

I’d agree with this. I’d go out on a limb and say Boyle County wishes he was still their coach. He done a great job year in and year out, and always had his teams playing their best basketball at tournament time.

I sure hope Pulaski can keep this score respectable. They played really well in regional finals, but I know that wasn’t against Trinity. Go Maroons! Make our region proud!

If one could rank the likelihood of first round upsets, what would the order be?

I’d like to see Coach Hamlin return to the district. Give me all the drama! Lol
