I guess my idea of a mountain of a problem and yours are two totally different things. We will have to agree to disagree.

I still don’t see what the problem is though. I know a few teams have dropped out but this mountain of a problem really seems like a molehill.

I like Greenwood easy in this one. I just don’t trust MNH after those Owensboro and Apollo games.

I think it’s Beechwood’s to lose. LCA and Mayfield are probably my next two on the list and then OC, Belfry, and Somerset in no particular order after that.

I am not an OHS guy but I am in the city of Owensboro and the swagger that program has right know is off the charts. The fans are a little over the top and that’s a good thing. They have an energy that is hard to argue with and I really hope they are able to do something special this year.

This is a type of performance that is hard to recover from if you are MNH. As far as Owensboro goes this could vault you into the top spot. Nice job by the devils.

I feel like Somerset is the team no one would want to play. I would guess Beechwood, Mayfield or LCA would rather play OC over Somerset.

I just haven't seen anyone doubt Beechwood. I think almost everyone believes they are the favorite, some of us believe they are the heavy favorite. I do see people saying they believe other teams have a shot but I just don't see that as doubting Beechwood.

I still stand by my earlier statements that Beechwood is on another level. I think Belfry, Mayfield, OCath, LCA, and even Somerset could be in any order after that. I would probably only give LCA a shot at Beechwood but it would take a monumental effort.

I like Madisonville 28-7 in this one. Catholic ran for over 300 yards against Apollo and I envision the same type of success for MNH.

I saw from the 102.7 guys on twitter that Carothers was 7-7 4 TDs and 158 yards in the first quarter. That’s a pretty efficient stat line.

Central Hardin might be bad but DC is so much better this year. Those kids are playing harder and they are seeing success for the first time in a while. I hope that makes some of the other kids on that school realize that this program isn’t an afterthought and they can make a difference.

After watching Hancock this week I can’t imagine they are top 10. Didn’t complete a pass and looked like they would rather not play against OCath.

Carothers looks about as good as I have ever seen him. Even the incompletions are great throws. HC is having a little success running the ball but they are getting no big plays and I don’t think they have completed a pass.

I feel like this is a problem at other schools when it comes to football though. There are very few football scholarships given to kids coming out of the city of Owensboro but kids who are good at baseball will consistently give it up to chase a football dream that is probably less likely than that basketball scholarship.

I have said it before but I think Beechwood is far and away the best team in 2a. I think LCA and Mayfield are the next two and then OC, Belfry, and maybe Somerset. I would be shocked if anyone outside of the top 3 I mentioned win it this year. I will probably be shocked if its anyone but Beechwood but with Mayfield and LCA its hard to just count them out.

I think it was 61-7 final.

Really surprising result. It’s always hard to judge results from game to game but Owensboro has to feel like they are in the drivers seat in this district.

I called 41-14, I feel pretty good about that. Owensboro did what really good teams do against teams that aren’t good enough, they jump on them early and break them down. My only thing about the devils is they have to figure out the penalties. It’s been a common theme and something that will hurt them against the top teams.

Carothers has been a lot better in the first half and Xavier Maddox probably has close to 200 yards receiving in the half.

I just don’t see Apollo being able to slow the Owensboro offense down at all. Anything more than 1 punt from the devils would surprise me. The question is can Apollo generate enough long drives to keep Owensboro off the field? I honestly don’t think so. The eagles had success against OC because they had better athletes outside, they do not have that this week. I think OHS takes this one 41-14.

In my opinion LCA is number 2 behind BW. I think they are probably the only team in 2A that can keep it within a couple scores of them.

OC defense is becoming a bit of a concern. The secondary is having a hard time keeping up. On offense it’s hard to complain about 56 but the passing game with Carothers was still a struggle with off target throws and dropped passes. I know a few players for OC got dinged up so hopefully nothing is major.

You are absolutely correct on points 1 and 3. There are a lot of teams who struggle to get good shots on a consistent basis and those teams are really gonna feel the added pressure of the limited time. As far as point 2. I have seen some clock people that could probably do it but I think for the most part you will have to have a dedicated person. Between adding a score, managing the game clock, and some places have the fouls on the board. It could be a lot to add an extra task in there.

Am I crazy in thinking Beechwood is on a whole other level in 2A?
