Owensboro 42 Apollo 14

Featured Replies

Strong performance by Owensboro - never punted, put it to running clock game at 42-7.  Owensboro throws pick 6 on last play of game.  Defense held Apollo to 7.  Apollo slowed the game every play they could.  Johnson - QB was elusive and made some good plays.  Ganaway was terrific, Dillard was terrific, Hampton great game.  Owensboro unstoppable all night.  Great game on to next week.

I called 41-14, I feel pretty good about that. Owensboro did what really good teams do against teams that aren’t good enough, they jump on them early and break them down. My only thing about the devils is they have to figure out the penalties. It’s been a common theme and something that will hurt them against the top teams.

Red Devils taking the City-County Title this year!

Still should be an interesting game in Madisonville though.  But I now like Owensboro in that game.

Hampton 19 carries, 196 yards and 2 TD’s

another TD called back as well.

We got to fix these penalties. We have linemen that hold and the coaches have to fix this. Yes we get away with it sometimes and so do other teams but it has to change. No offense to Apollo and I know they had their fair share of holding penalties but if we played Bowling Green we would of lost that game.

Got to clean up the penalities especially if we want to play in December.

Owensboro did whatever they wanted to do offensively in this game. Defense did its job, holding a pretty good Max Johnson in check and locking up the wide outs for most of the game. Apollo just doesn’t have the team speed to compete at a high level. 5A might be wide open this yr for about 5-8 teams but not so much for the Eagles this yr.

I’m super impressed with O.  Ganaway is the best QB I’ve seen this year.  Hampton Dillard Ashley…everyone doing their part.  Dominating wins the last 4.  On to Marshall, Muhlenberg and Madisonville.  I like O’s chances against anyone in 5A.

Ganaway just phenomenal throwing the ball and running is incredibly hard to tackle.  RPI will be huge.

I was tough on him the 1st 2 games but since then he’s been almost flawless. Just give him time and watch him work. I believe he will only get better. It helps when all your receivers are forsure catch’s. Haven’t seen too many dropped balls this season.
