  1. They don't necessarily need to be at Cooper now, just in the Boone County Schools realm....Maybe at Ryle, Conner or Boone or maybe in the elementary or middle school level.
  2. Walton is an ISD. If my memory serves, and it has been a while so this may have all changed, Boone County Schools like to promote from within the system. If that still holds, the next coach is probably in there somewhere.
  3. Did he ever play at Kentucky, or just commit to Cal and then followed him to Arkansas?
  4. These were the old Ridell helmets that had a raised section down the middle. It was covered with clear tape, which throughout the season would begin to wear and break off, especially when you hit guys like Mike did. In real color photos it would look dull white or gray. It is even more noticeable in B&W photos.
  5. Other than the red stripe on the helmet, pretty dead on accurate.
  6. These are, in effect, alternate alternates. Atlanta, Milwaukee, Baltimore, Kansas City and Texas also revealed 2.0 versions.
  7. As long as Nike is making money, they'll keep rolling them out. Different sells, for a little while.
  8. On first glance, I like these better than the all black ones. We shall see how much each ones make an appearance.
  9. Complications from Parkinson's Disease. https://www.foxla.com/sports/dodgers-legend-davey-lopes-dies-at-80 The late '70's Dodger infield was loaded (Steve Garvey at first, Lopes at second, Ron Cey at third and Bill Russell at short) and they played more games together as an infield than any group in history. As a Reds fan, there was a slight hatred, but grudging respect for those teams. They were really good. Rest in Peace, Davey
  10. If TV Networks are willing to pay for it, it will happen. That's the only reason to do this. A majority of the early round games are in 1/2 empty arenas, so expanding isn't really going to make much difference there. This is the NCAA going after TV money. As stated above, greed, pure and simple.
  11. That was a bludgeoning. No other way to describe it. Congratulations to UCLA.
  12. And then when you get them all together, trying to keep the flower girl and ring bearer to pay attention and smile.
  13. Our home, the pale blue dot, from Artemis II. Photographic technology has come a long way since late 1968. I definitely want to see what an image of their "Earth Rise" when the go around the moon.
  14. From L to R: Dr. Rutterer, my dad, and Doc. Memories and a few tears.
  15. It's a combination of things. Staley is a coach on the Coach K mould, she, as he did, will be in the officials ear from the opening tip. And tonight she was. Add to that, UConn played, by far, their worst game of the season. They just didn't have it tonight and he knew it. You could tell at the in-game interview that Geno knew they weren't winning tonight and that's a frustrating feeling. He had three options, and 2 of them were no-win. He could do nothing, which isn't his style. He can bash his own team (which would have been warranted, but would have rubbed some the wrong way) or he could do what he did, bash the refs and Coach Staley, which makes him look like a sore loser.
  16. I am assuming that now that they are DII, they offer athletic scholarships? I know when they were DIII they did not. Regardless, congratulations, young man. Hard work pays off.
  17. I am heart broken. As it relates to this site and forum, Doc was the biggest supporter and fan that Covington Catholic football ever had. He loved the school and loved being a part of every CCH team as team Doctor. His legacy within any walls that contain a Covington Catholic High School will last for eternity. On a personal level, Doc was like my 3rd Grandpa. When my dad graduated from UofL Medical school and completed his residency, we moved back to NKY and he went into practice with Dr. Brueggemann on West 19th Street in Covington...Right by St. Augustine Church. They remained in practice together until Doc's retirement, but the 2 never lost their love and respect for each other. Every time I saw Doc he would ask how my dad was. My dad passed 2 years ago and now Doc is gone. That is a big part of my life that is now empty, save for the memories. Rest in Peace Doc. There is not a shadow of a doubt that one if the best spots in heaven has a seat for you.
  18. All indications are everything is going as planned. I think I saw 10 hours in earth orbit before TLI. Then off to the moon.
  19. It will never happen for a variety of reasons (age, drama, past history) but Bob Huggins at one of the true CBB Blue Bloods would be pure cinema.
  20. That's really a Cincinnati sports fan issue. If they like you, you being shipped off or let go is an issue. They benchmark for that was Todd Frazier. All he ever really did in Cincinnati that was noteworthy was win a meaningless HR Derby when the All-Star game was at BGP. But when the Reds shipped him off the the White Sox, Cincinnati fans freaked out. Likeability is more important that numbers in this town, for some reason.
  21. How much profit will this league need to generate if they are going to fly teams from Europe to play in the states and teams from the states to fly to Europe? Jet fuel prices aren't dropping anytime soon and getting dozens of people overseas isn't cheap.
  22. Can't complain too much about a 2-1 start. Better than 1-2 or 0-3. If they can take 2 of three games most of the year, it will be a good one.
  23. He was only there for 1 year? Seems like it was a bit longer than that. I figured around 3.
  24. That was the name I first thought since he was an assistant there for some of their best teams. But I think he's at peace being back home in NKY and I don't see him leaving the area again, personally or professionally.
  25. As I mentioned in other threads: Luke Murray is going from UConn assistant to be the top Eagle at BC and for some unknown reason, LSU re-hired Will Wade. Also saw that ex-Xavier/Louisville/Charleston coach Chris Mack is moving to South Florida to replace Bryan Hodgson, who left to take over the Providence Friars.
