Boyle County at Frederick Douglass Predictions/Updates
That gets followed up by a should have been INT for Quissenberry but gets wrestled away from him for a Douglass TD.

Boyle County at Frederick Douglass Predictions/Updates
I couldn't believe the ref didn't throw a flag on that play because he came up to the player at the end of the play. And yes, the feed keeps going in and out for me.

Boyle County at Frederick Douglass Predictions/Updates
D1 athletes all over this field and Tavey clearly stands out as the best player by far.

4A RPI Rankings - 2023
Strength of schedule is not technically a factor, but opponent's winning percentage is and that's theoretically supposed to measure a team's strength of schedule. My original point is that Cov Cath is going to secure the #1 RPI because they are able to easily schedule decent 5A and 6A schools (SK, Dixie, Ryle, Campbell County). I think a neutral observer would recognize that Boyle's schedule of Fort Gibson, Lex Cath, Douglass, LCA, Scott County was probably tougher than Cov Cath's. But, the RPI calculations are going to favor Cov Cath because of the multiplier that is given to beating larger schools.

4A RPI Rankings - 2023
I'd be curious to know exactly how much the multiplier for playing up a class helped out Cov Cath this year. I don't think many people could honestly say that Cov Cath's schedule was tougher than Boyle's or Corbin's, yet RPI calculations are going to give them the #1 seed in the East, and give us a Boyle-Corbin matchup a round or two too soon.

Their '23 season summed up right there.

If you could change one thing about Kentucky High School Football what would it be?
This is such a good point and a realistic scenario if you seed the entire state 1-32 or even 1-16 based on a ranking.

Bengals 17 Seahawks 13
I think it was the Bengals' third drive of the second half that ended with the Bengals punting on 4th and less than 1 from their own 44 yard line, I thought that was about the most gutless thing I've ever seen these Bengals do. At that point they were only leading by 1, I don't get where the aggressive mindset was then.

Mercer County at Garrard County Predictions/Updates
I'm glad that Garrard has been figuring it out as the year goes on. They were underwhelming in the beginning of the year. Mercer is just too much for them this week though. I'll take 30-20 Titans.

I like keeping the districts and sister districts the way they are now. That provides a good compromise of keeping travel distances down for games that are unlikely to be competitive and still making sure we usually get the best 8 teams left in the 3rd.

Something that hasn't been mentioned yet: changing the playoffs to make RPI (or Calpreps) statewide begining of the 3rd round, OR keeping it east/west in the Semifinals round. I don't like the current setup of reseeding in Round 4.

BluegrassPreps.com Class 4A Football Rankings 10/16
Not sure about Paducah being above Corbin or Cov Cath. Those other two schools have stacked some really nice wins that Paducah hasn't.

What kind of odds did you get on that?

Is it time for Bill Belichick to retire?
They have a Patriot Alum and current coach on the defense in Jerod Mayo that Kraft has previously touted as a potential Belichick successor.

Cowboys at 49ers Updates
That game scares me so much. I'm pretty sure that Nick Bosa and Burrow are good friends from their time together at OSU, so hopefully that will make him think twice before blowing by Jonah Williams and destroying Burrow with a vicious sack. Maybe we can talk to Shanahan before the game and agree that a nice two hand touch is all we need to declare the QB down, rather than let Burrow get sacked 12 times.

Cowboys at 49ers Updates
49ers have the best defense in the NFL.

Scott County at Woodford County Predictions/Updates
I can't remember who posted it but I thought that the NKY district in 5A was actually not paired up with the Woodford and Scout County district for 2023. Can anyone say with certainty one way or the other?

Bengals 34 Cardinals 20
Everything else will work itself it out as long as Burrow gets right. I'm confident this team can overcome anything as long as Burrow is himself.

Bengals at Cardinals Predictions/Updates
Joe Burrow has to be the all time leader in taking a sack on 3rd down.

Madison Southern 36 East Jessamine 6
Not exactly right down Main St. The borders don't really make a ton of sense in my opinion. Also, the kids who are allowed to transfer within the district is wildly inconsistent (speaking with direct knowledge of a close family member). I'll let everyone guess which school is usually impacted positively. East has some more rural areas and West has Wilmore (more affluent area), but the disparity isn't as drastic as athletic success, academic success, and community perspective would have everyone believe.

Bengals at Cardinals Predictions/Updates
Cincinnati travels to Arizona in a must win game. This season is in danger of slipping away. What looked like an easy W at the beginning of the years looks anything but right now. The Bengals look lost in all 3 phases and the Joe Burrow calf injury from July is still dominating the storylines around this team. Meanwhile the Cardinals look far more intriguing than anyone would have predicted just a few weeks ago. If Cincinnati will come anywhere near their preseason expectations of competing for a Super Bowl, a win this week is an absolute must.

Madison Southern 36 East Jessamine 6
Ever since Jessamine split into East and West the community has never gotten behind East Jessamine. It's been almost 30 years and I can't think of another school district that has such a severe disparity between two schools. Anyone "in the know" and who is being perfectly honest would confirm that East Middle and High is essentially a 2nd class school and that extends beyond football. The athletes are all over Nicholasville, not just the West side. The district level administration needs to start equally supporting both schools, and is there a more high profile program at any school other than the football team?

Tennessee 27 Cincinnati 3
Exactly. You could rationalize it away. We started off the year with two of the best pass rushers in the NFL in Pittsburgh and Dallas, not too long after we played at a Cleveland team who always had our number. This year, you can't say the same thing. The offense is totally lost and the special teams has taken a big step backwards (if that was even possible). This Bengals team feels as lost as ever and that's the most disappointing part of this year and why I am willing to lead the fire Zac Taylor movement. This is a product of coaching, and teams that are well coached never lose by 24 to bad/mediocre teams.

Counterpoint, Joe Burrow carried the team in those years. The QB is the most important person in an NFL franchise (see 2020 Buccaneers). That being said, I really do like Zac Taylor. I was just watching his post game press conference and he has a great head on his shoulders. He's very professional and cerebral with his answers. I just question if he is better suited as an NFL OC or QB coach, rather than the head guy.
