Class 4A

1. Boyle County vs. Wayne County

2. Corbin vs. Perry County Central

3. Covington Catholic at Mason County

4. Paducah Tilghman at Calloway County

5. Franklin County vs. Western Hills

6. Ashland at #7 Johnson Central

7. Johnson Central vs. #6 Ashland

8. Taylor County at Lincoln County

9. Logan County vs. Warren East

10. North Oldham vs. Spencer County (10/19)

Logan County doesn’t belong on this list. Move up North Oldham to 9 and squeak Desales in at the 10 spot.

I tend to agree with you on Logan County being questioned.... but DeSales?!

I don't think DeSales even makes the top 15.

I think Bardstown is beginning to figure it out and will be a very tough out in the playoffs. Team has many weapons and some flaws but I just wouldn’t count out TyTy and company in the playoffs

@Voice of Reason I personally just wanted Logan County out of there, don’t care at all that Hopkinsville just got their QB back against them last week, that Tigers football team is not good. Honestly was going to sneak Bardstown in here at 10, but I took the Colts.

Who did you have in mind?

4A really solid top 10.

I'm ok with Logan County in there. I was questioning your choice of DeSales. If you want a team to look at as a replacement for Logan County, I would check out Whitley County.

So I will defend Logan County (big surprise) lol. A two loss team one loss by one score to a 5A top 10 team and a loss to a top 4 4A team. The Hoptown game wasn’t a good showing for this team I get that. I thought Logan came out flat and just made plays when they needed to win. Eli Hopkins being hurt first play of Paducah and sitting out the Hopkinsville game hurt this team badly. This week will be their test!!!!

If Dane Parsley isn't able to go, I think LC will be fine. If he does, then it will be a battle like all of their district games have outside of Calloway. That being said, the Hoptown game was just one example, they also had the world's greatest pillow fight with Allen County. Outside of PT, the rest of the district is pretty common.

I think it's indicative of a lot of 4A once you get beyond those top 6 teams.  Maybe 7 - we'll find out Friday when Johnson Central gets their shot.

Interested to see what you think about the matchups of District 1 v 2 in playoffs. How close are Logan, WE and ACS to Bardstown JH and Nelson? I think there are going to be some very good playoff games between these 2 districts.

At the end of the day, we’ve beaten the other 4 teams in our district and E-Town. That’s not a stellar resume. I agree that our QB has turned a corner, we’ve picked up a couple good players, and the run D looks tough, but I don’t think we merit top 10 yet. I would like a do-over on that debacle at Taylor County to see what we really look like against them. The playoff schedule is daunting: if we are fortunate enough to win R1 and R2 games at home vs. “common” D2 opponents, we currently would travel to Franklin County for a R3 game, and they throw it all over creation. Guess what we don’t do well at all??

How much space separates these top 4 teams? Is Corbin as good as Boyle? How far behind those two teams is CovCath? Does Paducah belong at the table with the other 3? Just wondering people’s thoughts on this.

1. Boyle

2. Paducah

3. Corbin

4. Cov Cath

That would be my top four.
