Wow. Just now hearing this. Not to mention opened Pandora’s box. If they take anonymity letter’s seriously, what is stopping anyone from writing a letter about any player that transferred in to a school on the upcoming schedule. Absolute joke. KHSAA has lost its mind. Nothing says I care about the kids more than telling him he’s good to play, then, oh wait, never mind. Whoever the Beechwood adult is who wrote a letter, I hope you still living in your high school days is exciting for you.

Congratulations to Boyle County on the 2023 State Championship! The trophy leaves Fort Thomas and heads south, sad day in NKY but we will be back next year!

Agreed, I’m not sure the percentage of fans that come through that gate, but I know just simply the amount of people can’t be small.

Entrance yes, but last time I walked it, it was a mud/dirt path. Not sure if it’s been updated since then.

Much needed, always love attending games at BW, as the atmosphere is great, but was always underwhelmed of the entrance (especially of late with all the construction and overuse of fencing.) Now if they can just get a paved walk way and steps from the Kroger parking lot - if they haven’t already.

This has been fascinating to follow. More and more players are coming out stating this is not true and that the whistleblower has been on record saying something close to ‘I’ll do whatever it takes to get Coach Fitz fired”. NW needs to publish the report- redacted if they must- or they are going to be on the end of a firestorm of unhappy people, as it’s always begun. I believe the rush to judgement here has been overwhelming, and believe the truth will ultimately prevail. Sucks for everyone involved, regardless of how you look at it.

Showing up to practice is an achievement? Every team in the state is practicing in the morning during the summer. That bar is incredibly low.

That’s a definite, fortunately for Catholic schools, they can get anyone in the building with a bachelor’s degree alone. So that shouldn’t be a hurdle.

That’s the most interesting thing about this new program, who do they get for the head coach, but also, by default, who builds the entire trajectory of the program for years to come. An experienced head coach? A young up and comer? A former HC who helped start a program? With that, is an experienced head coach out of a job right now that is looking to do all that it takes to start a new program? Will they trust a young coach with the entire basis and future of a program? When it comes to a HC that has helped start a program, who is left in NKY that helped start a program? (What school was the latest to join the NKY ranks with Varsity football? And where is that coach now?) And probably most importantly, the article stated the job is coming open in early 2024, how long is that hiring process going to take? What coach is going to accept a job in which they cannot actually coach a varsity football game until a year after? And if I’m St. Henry, wouldn’t I want a coach that is still involved and coaching, meaning they are coaching and still in the industry. Early early names to look for I’d have to say: If my assumption of Woody McMillen- being the last one to start a program in NKY (Walton), he fits the criteria above, but he just took the Ludlow job and is nearing retirement. Dave Wirth - Been apart of Catholic School programs his entire career, including college. Greg Taphouse- HC experience not coaching currently. Although the rumor in why he was fired is pretty well known news, if true, I don’t think you attach your program to that. Alex Shelton - Would be the young up and comer of the group, the question still remains, do you give the reigns to a new program to a young guy? Dave Brossart - Experienced HC with Catholic School experience. Stephen Lickert- He’s open to change, as he’s applied for a job recently, Beechwood. And it has been stated often that his ultimate goal is HHS, would taking a job at St. Henry further that ultimate goal? And is a brand new program better than NCC- I say no, especially with all the changes that is coming. Jeff Marksberry - Just recently hung up the whistle, would have to assume he’s reached the amount of years in KY public schools or is quickly approaching the amount of years to retire. But he would fit in the HC with experience that is not currently coaching. Outsider - Do they have someone in mind, as they had to have had a football minded person in the conversation of starting a program. If so, who is that? Who did they lean on, and is he available.

A couple things, let’s pump the brakes on this KID. Not because he isn’t talented, but because he is a KID. There are 100 different reasons someone may not pan out or live up to their potential. A LOT can happen in 4 years, and it is not fair to him, nor the actual players on the roster at CovCath to talk about a KID like this. I hope he does well, stays healthy, stays out of trouble, gets good grades, and all the pieces fall correctly for him to have a impactful career at Elder, and if he is lucky, to go play at the next level. Next thing we are going to be talking about is the #1 4th grader in the country, “baby gronk.”

Per @Conner_Baseball on Twitter… “Last night, Coach Arlinghaus stepped down as the head coach of Conner baseball. Arlo has been at the helm for a program record 17 years and has a program record 327 wins. I’m that team, we made 10 regional appearances with 4 district championships and 1 regional championship. Arlo was a 5-time NKBCA Coach of the Year. His players have earned countless all-star nominations. He has had 3 NKBCA players of the year, 2 conference players of the year, and 1 9th region player of the year. 44 of Arlo’s players have gone on to play collegiate athletics. While Arlo leaves as the undisputed most successful coach in program history, anyone who knows Arlo knows that while he is extremely proud of the on-field success, it’s the relationships and experiences that mean the most to him. Arlo has made Conner a truly players-first program. His success has been by building families rather than teams. He always made alumni feel welcome and has kept in contact with every player who played for him. He built our record books and started the baseball hall of fame. Arlo, thank you for the wins, the memories, the laughs, the tears, the advice, and the hugs. You will be greatly missed! We are excited to see who will take over because they have some big shoes to fill. Conner baseball alum, please watch for information regarding a “reunion” to honor Coach Arlo later this summer.“ Great Coach, Even better dude. Hopefully CovCath will finally move on from years and years of mediocrity and force Krumps to step down, and allow Arlo to come in and take over the program that needs a much needed boost and rejuvenation.

Only got to watch one FROSH game last season, but definitely seems like a ball player. Will be interesting to see how QB situation shakes out, as they’ve essentially got 4 guys in contention. Pitzer, Harney, Reardon, Gaiser. The scary thing is, 3 of those 4 (Pitzer) will find themselves on the field somewhere if they do not earn the QB job. A great problem to have.

Skill is absolutely loaded this year. If they can figure out the OL, Colonels are the 4A favorite.

Co-athletic director, head baseball coach, head football coach, and radio announcer…? Wow. Hopefully no more jobs open up at Ludlow, McMillen will snatch it up in a hurry! Sort of surprised with the hire, expected Ludlow to go bold, but it’s clear they wanted a familiar face and no one to muddy the waters. Goodluck Woody! And Goodluck to the Panthers this season!
