As if LCA wasn’t already tough to game plan for…Nieves at WR with Boley at QB. Now all you have to do is figure out who’s going to throw the ball lol. Nieves led the state as QB in 2020.

My guess is they (Boyle) wouldn’t have made it public if it wasn’t already approved. Unless it’s leaked info.

When an athlete is that big and can move that well programs come running. Statically his numbers are very average but that can be accounted to only playing the first half of a majority of their schedule.

I was scrolling through senior profiles for LCA and an overwhelming majority of the seniors state that there greatest memory was attending the LCA vs LC football games. It definitely brings the juice!

Strength is obviously important but speed kills. I think more programs are putting emphasis on speed and flexibility and incorporating weights into that verses the other way around. College recruiters really don't care about your max weight but they love seeing you be fast, explosive and agile on the field, in drills or in off season workouts / 7 v7 or 1 v1's. Note to parents, don't miss a chance to video your kid during offseason events especially if you have limited game film from the season prior. I have a google folder with over 1000 clips of my son from the off season. It is nice to be able to send a college a video of your kid in coverage, pass rushing or changing direction in a drill when they ask. Bought a Sony 4K with a good tri-pod and was a great investment. The more you invest now the less you invest for college!

Sounds like someone higher on the food chain didn't like the hire and flexed their muscle after the fact. Par for the course in Fayette Co, can't get out of their own way.

I hate to hear this. Atchley would have been a big boost for that program. Something doesn't pass the smell test on how this all went down.

Who wins and who loses on this ruling? As in the old way guaranteed me a trip to the third round but now we may be out the 1st round? Any match ups come to mind?

I figured the NK contingent would know if there is some type of back story there. Seems to me I heard something at some point over the last couple years about players leaving Ryle for BW or something to that extent. Although it could just be the fact that a 6A team doesn't want to get beat by a 2A team lol.

I would say Beechwood has earned that title. Why don't BW and Ryle play in the regular season? Is there a story behind that?

Just heard that Tommy Craig has applied for the job as well. He is the current O-line D-line coach. This would be a good fire from within. Heard he has a great relationship with the players.

My original post did not mention D1 at all. See below. You inserted your opinion that you have made on several occasions regarding my "chest thumping" about college football and RPI. I state facts and the fact that LCA has had success is not bragging. Do LCA staff and players hurt from losing two titles by 3 points? Absolutely, but they also know that there is more to football than a trophy because that's the way they are coached. They are coached to servant leaders, to do well in the classroom and to be the best version of them they can be. Do they fall short? Absolutely, no one is perfect but it's those short comings that prepare them for life. The fact that a kid plays football on the next level should be celebrated and I will continue to brag on them every change I get. If you don't like it don't read it. But I won't stand by and let you chastise their program because they fell short in what arguably have been the best two games at Kroger field in quite some times. There are a lot of kids who would love to play for Coach Charles just like Coach McPeek and in your case Coach Rash. It's not about D1 it's about playing in the best programs and being successful and having the right platform to prepare you for the next level if that's your goal. If a team is full of alpha dogs the little dogs either join another pack or take notes from the alpha dogs on they become one. I can tell you that Coach Charles is 100% about team as is McPeek as is Hoskins. The fact that we/they have come up short in the "big" game is no indication that they are not good coaches and their goals are skewed. It simply means that on that given day the better team won. No matter how many college players, super seniors or Mr. Footballs were on the field. It seems that Lexington Schools are starting take things serious and putting the right leaders in the right spots to make Lexington football relevant again. Obviously programs like LCA w/ Doug Charles and FD with McPeek have had the right guys in for a while, but Bryan Station with Hoskins, Lafayette with Atchley and LC bringing in Bathiany from the college ranks are showing that these schools are tired of losing. I don't know much about the TC hire from within and I feel that Henry Clay needs some changes but overall it seems things are trending in the right direction. A ton of talent in the area just needs the right leadership. Last but not least Sayre and Chad Pennington have put dubs on the board early and often in their short existence.

I think this is what you will see more of for all top programs once the realignment happens in 23. Top teams going out of state for non-conf games.

Who smoked LCA in the playoffs? If you consider 26-2 with the two loses being by 3 total points in the finals with a chance to win in the final minutes being smoked then you have an extremely high bar lol. The entire post is about Lexington football appears to be making the moves so that the level of competition will rise. You can't tell me that out of Clay, Creek, Lafayette and Station that there is not enough talent that if it's developed right can be in the picture year in and year out.
