Well last year they played one out of state team that I’m sure didn’t help even though that team didn’t lose another game until their regional and then they were in a 6 team district and the other 5 teams were poor to say the least. It’s easy to take shots at a school saying their schedule is to weak but you know there was a lot of other teams in 3A that played a tougher schedule and how many of them was state I can tell you none.

I don’t know if I agree with that they have played a lot of big schools over the years but you just have to play schools that in your area and the Warren Co schools are about the only local schools that fit that criteria.

So I’m assuming everyone thinks Atherton will continue to be a good team because for years they were atrocious and if they are better for only a year or two like a lot of non traditional powers do occasionally then they might not be a upgrade.

Well that’s probably best for Monroe they need to schedule games they can compete in it will sure be strange not seeing them on Glasgow’s schedule.

So by the way you’re phrasing this you don’t think they will be playing after this season.

Did Lincoln decide not to coach this year or will he be on Glasgow’s staff with his brother. That England kid has a talented arm he’s just a really small kid who might struggle to stay healthy.

As I always say in topics like these is what is considered game of the century depends on who you cheer for. In 2021 Glasgow met Bardstown in the regional final with Bardstown being undefeated and Glasgow on a 11 game winning streak after getting thumped in the Scottie Bowl the first game of the season against a very talented Woodford County team 49-0. Glasgow fell behind 27-6 in the first quarter to a Bardstown team who could do no wrong. From that point on Glasgow outscored Bardstown 42-13 on their way to a regional championship and a spot in the semifinals against a very talented Paducah Tilghman team. They went on to lose that game to PT 39-20 but I will never forget that Bardstown game not only was it one of the greatest comebacks ever but also it being such a big game in the regional championship. Kieran Stockton went for 213 yards on the ground in that game as he ran around through and over the Bardstown players in that game and they had no answer for him.

Can’t wait to get the season started summer seems like it drags on forever. I think Glasgow will again go undefeated in the regular season and have as good a chance as anyone else in 3A to play CAL in the championship.

I would think some seasons they play two or three teams harder than what they would face throughout their playoff run.

Marquee games are in the eye of the beholder. Whoever I cheer for I’m going to be more interested in what their games are and don’t really care what the rest of the state thinks. Will I be interested in these perceived “marquee’ games yes but not to the point I am with my team.

I give Trinity credit they don’t back down from no one.

I think that would be wrong to opt out of one bowl game for another. Seems like they are playing a tougher team as well.

I agree 100% I understand things happen but to leave a school this late almost seems unfair.

I’m just going off last year Barren gave Greenwood all they could handle and really should’ve won and have a lot of players back including a second year quarterback which is always good so I think Barren will be better than the 5-6 record they put up last year but really I wouldn’t be surprised either way. The better question is can anyone beat BG they were as bad as they’ve been in years last year and still won the district.

The only differences I would make is Barren the two and Greenwood the three. Woodford the one and Scott Co the two. South Laurel the three and Southwestern the four but overall I think your picks look pretty good and wouldn’t be surprised if you were right on the money.

It still amazes me how bad Christian Co fell off.

Does anyone know what kind of team they are supposed to have this year I know they haven’t been bad the last few years but it seems they’ve certainly not been a threat to go deep in the playoffs.

I like it if nothing else you don’t get stuck playing the same teams year in and year out it gives you a chance at some new blood.

Sad part about it Glasgow has clearly been the second best team on several occasions. Not only the 4 championship games that they lost but in 2001 they played a Bardstown team with John Wesley Monin that no one played close all year but with one play left in the third quarter it was 0-0 Glasgow threw a pick six and lost 21-0 as it kind of took the life out of them and they just gave up ran out of gas however you want to put it in the 4th quarter. Another was 2013 when Desales first emerged they blew out everyone except Glasgow in the region championship Glasgow led the Colts 28-21 in the fourth quarter Desales came back and won 35-28 then blew out the semi and championship teams to win state. Seems like Glasgow has just never had the great teams except when there was a dominant team like Corbin, Boyle, Bardstown and Desales out there.

I watched his highlights and he looks like he’s really accurate especially on the run. He seemed really elusive but not in a break lose and run down the field more of a move around till someone breaks open. I think this kid may end of being Glasgow’s best passing quarterback ever especially with all the weapons he has to work with.

I disagree, until they prove that last year will be the norm and not a anomaly then they should leave it alone.
