Seems very odd to me a Kentucky team would play one from California. Is this a neutral site game.

Metcalfe has ran that district ever since Glasgow left for 3A. But with them losing a lot of pieces and Green Co steady improvement might see a change this year.

Glad to see Glasgow and Barren Co are playing again.

That first game seems strange those two teams are not close to each other.

I will be in Glasgow watching my Scotties take on the Hawks from Larue Co. not sure on Saturday but I would like to see someone play it would great if I could catch a future Scottie opponent but all the schedules ain’t out yet so I will decide closer to time.

My mistake I didn’t know that was a district game that’s a pretty rough draw.

I’m surprised these small schools can get the funding for these turf fields I’m not sure the cost of a turf field but 25 years ago it would’ve been unheard of.

They should be competitive with everyone except Boyle I think that was biting off more than they can chew they will probably get smacked around in that game as a lot of programs do.

Well I’ve always thought good players make good coaches. Can an excellent coach make poor players better of course but you’re not going to be great unless you have great players. That being said I do believe a really good coach can slowly build a program get more players out and eventually make it better but even then they may have a few lean years in the beginning. For whatever reason maybe on the school maybe on the coach it doesn’t always seem like a coach is around long enough to build a program. So that’s leaves a school constantly hiring new people and it’s hard to be good like that.

Seems like a couple people may be a little disappointed but I don’t think young always means better there are several older coaches in the state that do very well. Now that being said I have no idea about this man’s history or what kind of coach he has been in the past. But I wish him well and hope he gets the job done.

They don’t lose early often.

With the exception of St. X winning it this bracket looks almost foreign compared to today’s teams.

Has Trinity ever lost before the 3rd round of the playoffs.

All the challenging games are definitely in the first half of the season.

I notice with them falling off in the last couple years the schedule has become much easier which I don’t blame them for just an observation.

They could be a really good team and not win a ton of games with this schedule.

And one of the best nicknames around.

Does anyone else feel like that’s a strange spread out district.

I think Glasgow isn’t having the Scottie bowl this year not sure why. I’m not sure if this is a one year deal or if it’s gone for good I hope just a one year thing and I’m not sure if maybe they just couldn’t come up with the teams to play in it this year or couldn’t get sponsorships or what. This bowl is roughly 20 years old it started out as the TJ Samson with Glasgow and Barren Co swapping as hosts every other year and then became the Scottie Bowl with three other teams coming in as Barren Co starting their on bowl.

They had a couple of pretty good years in middle school and I believe those kids were freshman last year so might be a good time to jump in there they would probably be no threat to win region but they might get that district a couple times which would be a big deal for this school.

Will probably only be favored in two games. Might be a tough year.

I don’t know if we have any people on here from Tomkinsville but does anyone know what to expect from this team this year. This was once a very good program that has fallen on hard times.

That’s pretty impressive for a school like this.

I know most of the Louisville schools play each other mostly but I don’t think I’ve seen one lately where they only played Louisville schools.

You say they should be a clear favorite to win the district so I’m assuming Metcalfe lost most of their team. Also Monroe has a very good past in football even though they have struggled lately do you think they will show improvement this year. Don’t know how much you know about those two opponents but with them being in the same district I’m sure you have some knowledge of what they have this year.
