Corbin vs. North Hardin Predictions/Updates (Garrard County Bowl)
North Hardin in week 1 went toe to toe with a very good program in Southwestern. Defense was the name of the game in this one. Both teams looked to have limited scores with North Hardin putting 2 scores together to win 14-0. Corbin coming off of a win against 1A Pikeville by a score of 22-7. This also was a contest of 2 very good defenses. Corbin put together a 22-0 lead off of the arm of Kade Elam and a Pick 6 by the Corbin defense. Pikeville added a score of their own through the air late in the 2cd half. Corbin who picked up the first win under new head coach Luke Salmons will be looking to get his first road win. Who will you pick to win in the Garrard Bowl in this matchup?

Beechwood 28 Pulaski County 27
Really impressed with this score. Pulaski did a great job against a Beechwood team I think will be hard to overcome for Class 2A. Congratulations to Beechwood on a impressive last drive.

Corbin 22 Pikeville 7
Corbin came out and scored to make it 7-0. Then Pikeville had some deep drives only to come up short a few times. Corbin came up with a pick 6 to change the momentum of the game and made in 14.0 for the first half. Second half Corbin ended up adding one more score and due to a kicker injury had to go for two and it was good making it 22-0. Pikeville began to have to pass and Corbin went into a zone or prevent defense and Pikeville was able to connect on a long pass play and closed the gap 22-7 late in the game. Corbin and Pikeville both looked to me to be in more of a defensive battle. Both teams looked good honestly. I don't know if anyone in 1A will be able to stop Pikeville. Corbin will be right there with the top 4 teams in 4A again this year. I thought Corbin dropped a lot of passes that were in the hands, or it may have been a higher score for Corbin buy credit Pikeville's defense. They were all over the field all night.

Frederick Douglass vs. Bowling Green Predictions/Updates (8/24) (Rafferty's Bowl)
This may be the best game of the opening weekend in my opinion. Should also see both these teams in each of their respected classes competing for all the marbles in December. Tuff one to pick early. I am a fan of both teams. My gut instincts say Bowling Green because of the confidence the offense is posing early on. Good luck to both teams.

Pikeville at Corbin Predictions/Updates
I got Corbin in a close one. I think Pikeville knows what they have to do to win this game on the road. Corbin will have one area that will be hard for any defense to stop and that is Kade Elam. This is his Senior season and he will be a tuff to stop. He can run or pass and is really a defensive standpoint nightmare. Pikeville on the other hand really comes into this game hungry for another State Championship run and would like nothing more than to knock off Corbin on its home field. I would like to thank Mountain Football 606 for a very nice write up. No matter who wins this one, I do think it will be one of the best games to watch opening night. Good luck to both teams.

2024 Eastern Kentucky Preseason Power Rankings
I like your list! But I would put Ashland just behind Johnson Central and Southwestern. Ashland is a team trending upwards.

4A Preseason Rankings?
As for Preseason, no doubt Boyle County is the top team. I think you would have to move Paducah Tilghman up to the 2cd spot above Covington Catholic because of graduation. I think after that I would have to go with Franklin County. Franklin County always is in the mix in the 4th round, and I don't see this year being any different, the question is can they get through that 4th round game. I think the next couple teams are very similar, all having graduation but still contenders to make a run when it counts. that's Covington Catholic, Corbin and Johnson Central and I'll add Ashland to that group now that they are in 4A. So, preseason for me I'll go: 1. Boyle County 2. Paducah Tilghman 3. Franklin County 4. Corbin, Johnson Central, Covington Catholic 5. Ashland Blazer As always, we will have to see what each team looks like during the season and 3-5 teams are just all capable to beat each other on any given night. I will add, Boyle will probably be better this season than they have been the last 4. I agree with Guru. I don't see anyone in 4A playing within 3 Touchdowns of Boyle in 2024. I'll add this, please pick against Boyle as we play pick em. I'll take the points. ?

2024 Lexington Catholic Knights
I really enjoyed watching the QB last season. I wish him nothing but the best! I think if Lexington Catholic will be fine, tuff team IMO.

Open Job: Corbin
I think all of what you have mentioned is no doubt been tossed around. Its definitely early in the process and I would expect Corbin to put forth a huge effort this time around.

2024 Corbin Redhounds
2023 was so close. Corbin is coming off of a 12-1 season where they went on the road in the 3rd round of the playoffs and lost to the eventual state champion Boyle County by a score of 21-14. Looking ahead for 2024, Corbin has some big shoes to fill as they graduate 18 seniors from last year's team. Corbin brings back 3 key players for 2024 season as QB Kade Elam is looking to add another stellar year to his resume. He will have 2 key offensive players back this season in Eli Pietrowski and Cam Estep. These are the 3 players to keep your eyes on for the Redhounds in 2024. Corbin has a host of Freshman and Sophomores that are looking to contribute for this coming season. Thoughts? Key Losses from 2023: Carter Stewart 1071 yards receiving Guy Bailey 766 yards rushing Jared Smith and Jacob Smith "The Twins" who were a recking ball on defense. Zander Curry, Mike Neal and Franklin West will all be missed. Key Returners for 2024: Kade Elam 2443 yards passing and 27 touchdowns in the air and 267 yards rushing with 9 tds. Cam Estep 242 yards rushing with 4 tds and 483 yards receiving and 6 tds. Eli Pietrowski 272 yards receiving 3 tds.
