I really like this CCH team, Athens is the second best scorer in the region. They play and defend extremely hard, and they have a tough defensive minded all around guard in cash to run the show. But I love that they have multiple guys they can count on late to handle and score, guard play is huge come tournament time. I think their biggest issue may be a dominant big man!

I watched Scott scrimmage Ludlow before the season. It was tough to get a read on either team because of how down both were.

That's also my worry no matter who is coming back or what you have on the roster you aren't replicating the offense he brought. Even if he wasn't scoring he was playmaking for everybody else or the defenses whole concentration was on him. Now that's all gonna go to Mil, and I don't think the rest of the guys are that type of player to capitalize on that. Mil is gonna have to make it go; Starks, Turner, Lowe, all these guys are glorified role players. Not somebody your giving the game or ball to and saying lead us. Cooper and CCH are gonna be able to defend, score easier than these guys with Andy and McGillis as true scoring threats. The cats don't have that this year!

Yeah definitely not making conclusions, just an opinion on who they have coming back and watching Yamil last few years.

Agreed, Yamil is a great player but only moves the needle so much for them team wise.

When will Mil be back? And is it an injury or eligibility issue?

Don't know if this is a surprise without Mil. But still not a great result Princeton isn't what they used to be at all. I expect Newport to take a big step back, they no longer will have the best player and scorer on the floor each game. Still will be top 5 in region but I like cooper and CCH over them, will be better coached and easier offense. I think Newport is gonna STRUGGLE to score against quality teams. Best thing for them will to play out of their defense and run with the athletes they have.

That's actually insane to think about one man having that big of a hand on 17 state titles.

Sydney moss?? Boone County not sure on exact stats but she was the best I've ever saw.

What will the district look like next year with the move down?

Is Alexander done for the season? If so I don't think Cooper is the favorite anymore.

Clearly Paris is very underrated, people put to much stock into them losing to browser without their QB most of the game.

Sometimes bigger isn't better though. There he will play early and might even be a focal point/ have a ton of opportunities. Eventually lead to a bigger spot in portal or the league. You'd rather go smaller and be understated than go to big and not make it.

Just to piggyback, this is what most scholarship players are doing nowadays. Ohio State last year had something crazy like 19 or 20 of the 25ish kid recruiting class enrolled early.

Modern spread game. A pro style I think incorporates a lot more tight end, fullback, multiple formations. Watching them and anticipation for this year I think they will be 4 wide with a back like a modern spread/power spread.

Easily still top 3 in talent terms of the 9th. Between the Blue Colonel news and this news the 9th is WAY more interesting than it was about 3-5 months ago!! I was wrong for saying lopsided, (I honestly didn't realize the talent they had still) I'd still give the edge to both Cooper and CCH because they have their ball handlers and scorers coming back. Newport is replacing that!

Yes said 7 players have made an NBA roster. Overtime started as an online media outlet for basketball news and highlights. Then went on to start their own league. So I take it a little differently, he is gonna get paid regardless if he takes the college route or not. 100k salary minimum and then signing bonuses etc. There are multiple states that allow you to benefit off NIL without forgoing college eligibility. Once high school is over he will then have the decision to make with 1 year. Forgo salary that year and go to college or continue as an OTE player making salary and go to draft after. That's what the Thompson brothers did. Dillingham on the other hand did his senior year at OTE and then went to Kentucky. He still made money his year at OTE.

I'll be honest I totally did forget that. They definitely will still be a top team actually but I just don't know who that go to guy is gonna be now. But Yamil will feed those big guys no doubt. Just hope Starks stays, there camp is kind of all over the place.

I don't think the rest of the squad is gonna stay at Newport. Starks already had rumors of leaving and I think that'll come to fruition. Even if he doesn't, can Starks and Turner really lead this team? I'd put CCH and Cooper both over them in rankings simply cause guard play.

Ludlow has had better teams than this year and last couple years teams in my opinion. They just didn't have Beechwood and NCC in their district two of the best small school programs ever. That's the worst part about 1A football there is maybe 2-5 actual contenders year in and out. Then another group of about 10-12 good football programs. Then about another 10-12 really bad programs that get beat up on. Big difference in a good/ great program and a tittle winning program.

Uhm I graduated from Ludlow. Let's focus on getting past the second round every year. I love the facilities and the improvements to the program, but we are getting this extra boost so to say just because we had a good record last year. If you look at the schedule it's arguably the weakest it's ever been. The district you could same the exact same thing. It's gonna hurt when you get to Paris at the end of the year and that game becomes a shock exactly like last year. Ludlow also lost to Dayton and Newport last year and we have people saying they can compete for a title this year. Let's take a step back and for the sake of the thread be a little serious.

9th is clearly lopsided towards two schools now. And they both are no strangers to being in that spot.

I hinted at it multiple times over the summer, I'm pretty close to the situation and from the cov/newport area. I'm hearing over 500k total package, will finish high school out down there and then can go either route. Continue OTE for a year making salary or go to College for that single year before NBA draft. They want to be able to focus solely on making the league as he clearly is in that group of kids.
