For the third straight year the Jaguars of Cooper will face the Cardinals of Scott County in the second round of the 5A playoffs. This is a rubber match of sorts as Scott County won in 2022 and Cooper won last year, moving on to a tune of 49-21.
Cooper is undefeated but without their star Austin Alexander. Their first round opponent, South Oldham, kept things interesting until well into the second half when a flurry of activity allows Cooper to pull away and win 56-28. And if there is one thing I can predict with great certainty, that offense will still carryover to this game and you can expect some high numbers. But what about defensively?

Scott County comes in as one of the premier rushing offenses in the state. They ran all over Conner in an offensive dominated battle, winning 47-40 to advance to this week. Can Cooper, without Alexander, stop the Scott County run game? If so, you are looking at a very similar result to last year.

Alexander played last week. He was never in jeopardy of being done for the year—I have no clue where that rumor came from.

Is Alexander done for the season? If so I don't think Cooper is the favorite anymore.

I’m pretty sure he played in round one. I thought I saw a highlight of him getting a sack.

That would be news to me but it’s quite possible. Stats not out yet. That would be huge for their run.

He played both ways.

Maybe opposing teams are trying to speak it into existence.. "O'Hara out.. Alexander out.. Johnson out.."

Alexander did play last week.

I think Cooper wins. Scott County’s offense won’t be able to keep up with Cooper’s offense.

I think Cooper blows them out. Hopefully SC doesn’t get chippy at the end like they have in previous games.

Scott co.head coach is something else, he hasn’t gone through the hand shake line after the game for the last 2 years after losing to lex cath, he just walked off the field.

1000% false. Shakes the opposing coaches hand and supervises his team. Nice try to create something out of nothing brother.

I’ve been at both games have you? I’ve seen happen the last 2 years, he called lex cath coach last year and apologized the week after the game, not sure about this year.
