The first week of basketball in the 10th region was an exhilarating experience. Teams engaged in 44 matchups, with a balanced outcome of 22 wins and 22 losses. The competition was fierce, showcasing the talent and determination of the players. Among the highlights, GRC emerged as a dominant force, winning all three of their games with an impressive average victory margin of 21 points. Campbell County also made waves, finishing 2-1 and discovering a freshman star who scored 26 points in his debut. Meanwhile, Augusta and St. Pat each played four games, with Augusta securing three wins while St. Pat is still in search of their first victory. Calvary kicked off their season with a district game against Campbell County, and teams Montgomery County and Harrison County are navigating their own challenges. Looking ahead, the upcoming week promises to be thrilling both on and off the court. Montgomery County is expected to receive news about Cayden Reed's eligibility, which could significantly impact their season. Additionally, Augusta will face off against their cross-county rival Bracken County, a matchup that always draws attention. The US Bank Murph Classic is set to take place in Mason County this weekend, and on Tuesday, Robertson County and St. Pat will clash in a bid for a much-needed win for both struggling teams. Notre Dame names this score and Indiana spends the winter wondering if they jumped the gun on that huge extension for their coach after he loses his only 2 games of the year against ranked opponents.

I think Chandler will get there. He was a legitimate big time recruit out of HS and as you already know has been away from playing at that level for an extended time. I think for the Cats to get where we want them to be he NEEDS to have time like last night so it can come back together. I think Perry and Noah both need to stay in the weight room and the UK athletics cafeteria. Bulk up while learning to play more off the ball this year, get some meaningful minutes off the bench next year and then become Kentucky legends as juniors and seniors. Unfortunately, and to no fault to them, it's hard to see that coming to fruition in the transfer portal era.

Not sure. I've seen more touchdown celebration dances and jigs this year than I ever remember. I've not seen one flagged. Not sure what the letter of the law is. As far as my view, do a short dance, flip the ball to the ref and be done with it. Just don't let it delay the game.

Cats bounce back in this one and win a game that comes down to the final couple of possessions.

I don't necessarily think that he will leave there for Highlands, but coaches don't stay there terribly long recently. I wouldn't be shocked to see him win a couple of titles and go elsewhere in a handful of years or less. It's a taxing job.

I mean... the guys who are literally paid to declare sacks/pressures didn't think so. As far as the fumble, there's no way you can blame that on Mims. Burrow was scrambling and it was an incredible play by Watt.

Scrimmages have so little to do with actual standings. Some teams still playing football, some play it like an in season game while others play everyone 9-12, etc.

He’s been a really nice bright spot. Hope he continues to improve. It at least makes me feel a little bit better about Frank Pollack, although my feelings about him still aren’t great. I liked not starting Volson this week either. I think Cody Ford earned the time with his time filling in at tackle and it sends a message to Volson to get better.

Look…. I don’t want to lay it on thick about the poor performance of the BGP crowd, but I’ve participated in these pick ‘ems exactly one time each of the last 3 years and have 3 wins…. It’s not that hard, guys lol. In all honesty, the BGP hoodie is one of my top choices out of the closet. Comfy and warm!
