Brie crittenden dominant and Holtman effected with frustration at refs and teammates. but Bree foul trouble and scherr injury obvious are biggest factors. Sarah baker & Austin Johnson will be a big part of their offense second half Lacy Bradshaw contained but with 5 pts. No flow out of their offense and they have to find something. Shot selection is bad. They need to find something.

Syd was a star in both games and was the total difference maker. Defense was huge, offense was usual. Her team gets everything off of her play.

Jerad Moore (Dixie). He does a great job. His brother Rocky Tye, does Scott. Both are outstanding people that are positiver supporters of all NKY sports. Jerad is a really professional person. He takes the job serious and respects the other team while being energetic for his own team. Nothing over the top, but he isn't trying to be the show. Great work Jerad.

You know who didn't travel, 3-4 Ryle players standing there not doing anything on defense. Easy rotations and simple defensive effort missed. Cooper ran a pick, not even a pick & roll, and Ryle couldn't defend it. But its easier for a coach to blame a ref instead of his discipline. Its easier for the Ryle parents to blame someone besides their players.

Agree with this. Meredith is a very special player and you can’t replace that, but watching them play is really disappointing. Their effort and energy are very lacking. I could understand a tough W/L record but that shouldn’t be.

Good stuff. Been a fun first month of play. Ryle is beginning to look like the team I expected them to be and Dixie is playing good ball. Conner shows signs of being a real contender. After those 3 teams, it is a tremendous drop in my opinion. If I am ranking on results thus far then I go Dixie, Conner, Ryle. If I am ranking based on who I think is best, then see Ryle still as the best team.

No scores, but generally speaking from what I've seen 6th grade is a one horse race with Highlands. There isn't much competition or skills unfortunately beyond Highlands, maybe Twenhofel that has some good height but raw. Connor and I heard CC were playing competitive. 7th grade, talent was either moved up in some cases or not playing for schools. IHM has a solid team with some quality guards. IHM, Highlands, Gray, Bally would be contenders from what I've seen thus far. Holmes has done an outstanding job of improving its team from last year. Someone give a shout out with the Holmes coaches name, bc he deserves a lot of credit. He's been around but I don't recall his name. 8th grade, is continuing to turn into rec ball sadly.

Sorry if my tone was off. I wasn’t trying to be confrontational bc you are right also. How many coaches would drool over coaching those two kids.

There top two players are certainly important but first action has to be to fix the middle school program that has been torn apart & devastated by the high school.

I have family there. Your comments about 1/2 A are inappropriate. They had a great season and I was pulling for them. Go away with your ridiculousness. Congrats to CC for their win.

Dixie with a big 4th quarter run that was fueled by undeserved technical foul on conner’s center. An emotional moment of two players bumping shoulders. Totally undeserved. Leads to 4 Dixie pts I believe and fouled out conners center. Cougars with late push but too little too late. Syd Lockhart was in control. Dixie coaching completely outdid conners.

Ryle by 20. Statement game.

By this logic we should reduce the number of players. One or two or six less bad players creating this style of play. There are certainly a couple hollywood refs, but that is few and as another poster stated they tend to be better refs anyway. Odd that this post continues to ignore the players and parents that are responsible for the sloppy play that is happening on the court. The refs are the least of the problems in HS basketball.

In reply to Double Deuce It is what it is. Your comment is correct and no one should have any problem with the reality of your statement. But he's made the best of the cards that were dealt to him and could have taken other options. Its commendable and shows there are different paths to success.

I saw the future of Northern Kentucky Girls Basketball last night. 6th Grade Girls. Turkeyfoot Vs. Conner. These two teams went after each other. Players going back and forth, play after play. Rarely see 6th grade girls play at that advanced level. I would guess there were about (7) 3-pointers. I'm talking dribble moves 3 pointers and step backs into deep 3's.
